The buttons flash as if they are sending signal to shift, but no shifting occurs. I tried shifting in Park and then neutral, but when I went back to park with engine on, it buzzes the parking pawl. Had to shut down to get it into park.

Our mechanic in Montana did a test outside the vehicle touching plug posts with power leads and he said that he got nothing. Of course there is a sticker on the encoder which says “testing or operating outside the vehicle could damage the motor.”

Finally got around to replacing the encoder motor in the ‘99 transfer case. Bit of background first. After Paveltolz and I installed the new 6.5 Optimizer, I had installed a new AC Delco encoder motor, but it did not work and left the parking pawl buzzing when I tried to put it back into park...

Would this parts list apply to a ‘94 4L80e 4wd?

    For Dashboards needing repair

I will probably end up buying the LMC replica plastic dash for the ‘99.

Need 4” exhaust from muffler back

Quadstar also sells this. I guess I’ll end replacing everything.

Take a closer look at the aluminum dash and it’s a buy once, cry forever solution:

I haven’t ordered anything costly like an engine block. But wrenches…hell all of that is hecho in China nowadays. I just ordered a pair of 6 ton jack stands for $44 shipped, no tax. Guy on FB market wanted $25 each for used 6 ton jack stands. I offered $20 and he said no, so Temu it was. Saved...

It’s in a local warehouse. Says it will arrive in 2 business days. Prior orders show this as accurate.

Aside from the ABS not working, the rear brakes are back to working properly. Those rear bleeder valves are a pain. I need to bend an “S” into a long handle 8MM 6 point box wrench I have. Need to get the handle up and away from the backing plate. I did this grunt work while my grandson Jackson...

Bleeder valve fought removal and ended up stripped. Had to remove brake cylinder to remove and replace the bleeder valve.

Got it fixed, but it was a pita because the bleeder valve was stripped and fighting removal. Ended up having to pull the brake cylinder to remove the bleeder valve. Waiting for my son to be available to help bleed the brakes.

Found my problem with the rear brakes on the ‘99 Suburban. This is a pic of the passenger side rear brake piston. The piston rod fell out of the notch in the brake shoe, thus I was getting no brake pressure on that side. I will blame this on operator install. Second pic is of the driver’s...

Sorry to hear about your fall resulting in a damaged shoulder. Sucks on the LED light going out. Aren’t those things rated for like 20K hours? Good luck on the transfer case output seal. I take it the lack of winter weather is allowing you to work on the truck. I will probably roll through...
