    Poll Idea's

don't forget about some of those small tools like ratchets, or breaker bars to name a few. as far as powered tools go it's a tough call between a angle grinder or the reciprocating saw. there is one tool that nobody ever thinks about. it's called grey matter, it'll get you out of a lot of jams.

85 gmc suburban 6.2L electrical issues will not start

I wondering if it's the main power feed. IIRC it's a red wire,12ga comes off the starter. it has a fusible link on it. that wire controls all the power for the cab. EDIT: you can check for power at the junction on the firewall. it's a block/mounting(plastic I think) with 2 studs on it. it'll...

    I need a emergency brake light switch 1994 K3500

all the switch does is ground the wire. same method as the dome light/door switch. disconnect the wire, if the light goes off you probably chasing a switch. do a continuity test to confirm. the other possibility is the wire itself is grounded(rubbed though). then you left chasing it though.

What type of Internet connection are you currently using?

cable here. one of the few options we can get. no DSL(to far away) and I doubt a T1 line is anywhere near. we had dialup for a few years. it works just can do squat for videos.

    Sad day...

the heads aren't that bad to pull on a 6.2 I had to do it with the exhaust manifold still attached. the only hard part is that they weigh a ton then. had the head gasket ever been done on it? when I blew mine I had no coolant mixing in the oil, it all got pushed out into the overflow. new...

    hard drive cloning

the second drive has a bootable copy. it's out of a backup computer. for the CD option, can you just copy a HD from a running computer? I just got thinking I could just copy the laptops HD. it's got everything that it's going to need. a copy from the laptop might be a good thing. I've been...

it's 2 separate HD's the bad one is installed in the computer, the second one is being used as a external HD(HD in a box). sorry, no disks to be had. manufacturers need to include those things.:( can I use a separate computer to copy from one HD to the other? I can deal with most computer...

were dealing with windows XP, not sure of which version. I need to wipe the original HD, and the copy everything from separate HD onto it OS and all. not exactly sure what's gone wrong with the original OS, it'll crash randomly on it's own, and now is having issues with things...

    6.2 Glow Plug Controller

check out the set from 'pt wiring solutions'. he's a vendor on here and make ones for the 6.2/6.5. it's worth a look. iamdave is right, the bigger cables make a huge difference. I had a set of 2/0 for the truck made up(local shop) and haven't had half the starting problems that I used to. I...

    6.2 Glow Plug Controller

if the cables are in good shape leave them till you start to have issues. you only need to change the heavy set. the differences to look at the starter is the 27(older) housing is about 4" across and is straight with the nose cone. the 28 is small across and offset to the nose. I think its...

    6.2 Glow Plug Controller

the winter months you'll want to be heavier than that. IIRC stock is 2 gauge. 4 will hold for the summer. how's the rest of the cables look? which starter are you using the 27(direct drive, older design) or the 28(gear reduction)? it does make a difference of how big of cable you need. the...
