Guys, I'm working on my buddies mechanical 6.5 turbo diesel and noticed some odd wear marks all around the front of the crank where the harmonic balancer slides on. Anyone know what might have caused this and if it's serious or not? The motor is out of the truck and I'm replacing the timing...

Want to buy the long brace that goes from my 700r4 bellhousing to NP208 transfer case. Going on an 82 K20 6.2 diesel, any year will work as long as it's the same trans/transfer case combo.

It's possible for sure, just easier said than done. The wiring harness will be the biggest issue, finding one might be tough. Does it have a 700r4? Converting it from toilet bowl injection to carb might be easier/cheaper. I would knock him down on the price no matter what though.

This is a hot start video after the GR starter install, it cranks the same speed even when cold.

Update on my starting issue, I replaced the starter with a reman GR unit from Autozone and she fired right up! The DD bracket could be made to work easily enough by cutting it shorter and drilling a new hole for the stud on the starter but I'm going to order the correct one.

I know that there are two different brackets but I don't know if my DD bracket will still work on a GR starter. I'm thinking not.

Can you confirm that the DD bracket will work with a GR starter? Weighing my options here.

I can use the same bracket for both types of starters? I just finished getting the old starter out, you have to unbolt and remove the bump stop from the frame to have room to slide the starter out, found that out the hard way haha. Once it's out of the way though there is plenty of room to get...
