Those handles look a tad out of place. I think the 02 style recessed ones would look better? However, they are the most stout handles possible. They would look good on my truck!! :) Someday I'll get a set for me.
If you ever want to sell em, lemme know.
What type of turbo do these have? Wastegate? What controls boost? From what I've gathering it sounds like he either doesn't have enough boost, or the computer is dumping in too much fuel.
It's a stock truck.
A friend of mine called me asking me about a customers Duramax.
Here's what I have- which isn't ideal, I know.
02 Duramax 6.6, around 100,000 miles
It recently had a 'sensor' replaced costing around 700 dollars, and found out there injectors underwarranty that could have been replaced...
Talk about extremes!! That's a scary long ride in any vehicle. I'd almost trust an older one more than a brand new one just because it's been tested and proven.
Canada doesn't even bother to build highway's I see.
Sounds like a great idea. Don't hear about it too often on these forums people changing their TC's out for diff stall speeds to achieve different power ranges and/or effeciencies.
Great thread I also agree. Really makes me want to switch to synthetic Tranny fluid now.
Buddy, what difference would lowering the stall speed give to you if you are always cruising around 1500rpm OD?
I thought I had everything understood until you wrote this, and now I dont' understand what...
I often think that slow heavy vessel to push around is less abuse on an engine. Here's why:
RPM ranges are always gradual. Never 'hammering it' up to redline fast and / or often.
The vessel being so large forces you to use slow, weight management movements to control inertia.
Young kids...
well, multiply that by 4, and your at 10,404
And for it to be rated at that weight, it can probably handle twice that before it fails.
I wouldn't worry about it unless you start to really tow heavy on that rear axle.
