My understanding is that it is still an Organic acid type coolant and considered long life, mixing it with green coolant reverts it all back to the change interval of the green instead of long life.
If you look on Baldwins web site they have some good information on coolants types. If you mix one of the "compatible" coolants (non Dexcool) with Dexcool you will lose whatever long term properties the Dex gives you. yes, they are comaptible.... but mixing them makes the end result back to a...
The beauty of Baldwin is that they give you ALL the specs in the catalog and online so you can compare filters. I agree that the drainback valve is relevant on horizontal applications, not on vertical.
I agree, typically I never waiver on what I use for maintenance fluids. Since the PS system on my truck was not performing very well I felt I had little to lose by switching fluid. I did do a lot of reading on the subject and as best I could find the ATF was close enough. Fortunately its working...
I did mine by draining the radiator at the bottom and siphoning the overflow tank. At 5 1/2 yrs and only 70k it still looked pretty good. I didnt flush mine or drain it anywhere else. I do have a coolant filter system so I was confident that any sediment was in that filter, my main goal was just...
In years gone past most of the PS systems used ATF, just like engine oil, the modern ATF is far superior to previous formulas.
We have a truck at work that uses 15w40 oil in its system.
In the past I had used Royal purple synthetic PS fluid, I have since switched to Mobil 1 ATF in my PS system. .My understanding was that ATF is very close to PS fluid, close enough that it really didnt matter. I figure the pump never worked all that well anyways and the syn made it better. I...
Wow.... I have never had that trick not work. Try soaking the center area with breakaway (I prefer Cyclo brand or PB blaster)
on the front and from behind, and give it a few days.
I had the same problem with mine, the rotors on m y truck had 2 threaded holes in them around the studs. Find the correct size screw (IIRC it was 5/16 or 3/8) and run the screws in till they hit the hub flange. Tighten them evenly and it should pop the rotor off.
IIRC the factory switch is expensive, I had a 99 silverado that I installed factory fogs on and just wired them myself with an aftermarket switch. You could shop around for a nice round rocker that would fit in the factory location if you are concerned about the looks. I know I read at one time...
I added a circuit off the panel on the left side of dash, cant recall which one though, I just checked with my test light till I found one that had the switching I wanted. Buss makes an add a circuit that is simple to use, pull the fuse on the circuit you want, place the add a circuit in that...
I dont know why you couldnt, the point of the new harness is so you dont have to cut into the OEM plug. When I installed my Kenwood I still had to run an ignition power (cant recall exactly why but thats what I did)
If it was me I would just run new power wires from the fuse block and leave the...
I went into an O reilly (used to be Murrays) yesterday, what a joke, almost as bad as auto zone. I have the advantage of a great NAPA store right across from where I work, I am used to a "real" auto parts store.
I think the refill thing comes down to the fact that its cheaper to stock fewer...
I got hit in 88 and rolled an S10, ended up with the drivers sunvisor resting on the steering wheel, crawled out of the back window and walked away from it. Were it no for the seatbelt I would either be dead or typing this with a straw in my mouth. Professionally I have seen many people walk...
My first travel trailer was a flat front 6400# 27ft
second one is a seriously slanted front a little over 9000# and 32 ft body
both well within the 12,000# rating on the truck.
When I first got it the truck would have fan engagement on flat ground at 65 MPH towing the smaller trailer and...
