Rodd,
I hate to start with this, but make sure your battery cables and grounds are clean and tight. I had a boost sensor go bad and I got the same code you are getting intermittently. I troubleshot all over and the main cause of my DTC's was the dirty cables.
I am fairly interested in this system as well. I looked at other kits and I have to say, this is the first one I have seen that is specifically designed for the 6.5 and takes in to account that our engine is IDI.
Bux are tight all over, but I am seriously looking into this as an option...
THAT 3M wheel ROCKS! I have had the foamy crap from the tailgate metal badge I peeled off last year. (Well, I finished off) and have been slowly peeling it off. Thanks to all!!
I run my pump set at -1.51 because I got it there first time I turned the pump. Dumb luck I guess. So, I just had to scribe a line and fool with it. Acesneights1 is right, you even nudge it and it appears not to move, it will change your timing quite a bit. I got -1.94 but when it gets cold, it...
I use a gallon or two of bio anytime I can get it. Other than that I am using Outwest's Opti-Lube XPD, which was the additive listed right below biodiesel. I am really happy with the results and while a gallon is $35, the summer dilution makes it fairly cheap.
No it doesn't :reddevil:
Well, if you build a box around it and remove the right front turn signal lens and replace it with a piece of expanded metal
The thing to remember here is the Cummins' injection pump is lubricated by engine oil. Our DS-4 and DB-2's are lubricated by the fuel going through them! Our distributor style pump is MUCH more affected by lubricity of the fuel and the stuff you add to it!
Well, you want to keep the TM turned up enough to get boost when you need it. With my TM and the HP4 chip, I can use my foot to adjust my boost pressure.
Ok, I won't say search it out. Let me dig it up. I have to say, I had the bump and undid it after a couple weeks. I prolly didn't have the knack for doing it. Throttle response was like my old paint horse with a burr under the saddle.
Lower boost = lower egt so yes.. economy. Remember the power that boost gives us has a cost.. backpressure. That's why the potential for Slim's new turbo which is SO much more efficient than the GM-X and light-years ahead of a GM-4 or older, is so damn interesting. It's like free power.. sign me...
