    6.2 flywheel help

6.2 flywheels are all the same. The part numbers are even the same on the late model 6.5 that went away from the dual mass flywheel.

    6.2/6.5 Club

I will jump in too. Seems like I need something from the past to keep me going even if my supplies of 6.2/6.5 parts is getting thin.

    Anyone putting 6.2s into C-10s?

I installed a 6.2 into a K-5 Blazer back in 1985. I ran a sm 465 4 speed tranny, 36 inch tires, 1 ton running gear with 4.10's and lockers front and rear. It was a blast to drive. I wish I would have turboed it. The only issues I ran into was the crossmember that ran under the oil pan had to be...

    BF Goodrich All Terrain Tires

:mad2:I bought one of the first sets of E rated 265's that came out. The first thing I noticed was that the E rated tires only have about 1/2 the siping of the D rated tires, (this is why the severe snow rating is missing) the next thing I noticed was that the tread depth is 1/32 less than the...

    Best tires?

I just don't get it. All these guys getting lot's of miles with bfg a/t's and my 265/75/16-10plys only made it to 20k worst set of tires I have ever had. I could watch them wear. All this and I like bfg. I typically got over 40k out of my mud terrains. I have also got very good wear on...

Help diagnose cracked head vs. cracked block

At this point, you need to pull the pan and inspect the mains. Cracked main web can allow coolant into oil and is more common that I care to admit. I have found lots of blocks with cracks in the main web area, but you never know when the crack will run far enough to get into the water jacket.

    Classic GM

How about a place for swaps? Seems like the older rigs are always looking for swaps, with a lot of military rigs hitting the market there is a lot of interest in adding an overdrive tranny. And with a lot of older gas engines out there that get 10 mpg on a good day, there are some people that...

    What is every one towing?

32' Holiday Rambler Alumascape 5er about 11,500, with a 14' stock trailer loaded with horses behind it during hunting season or with a little 5x7 trailer with my 4 wheeler the rest of the time. The little trailer is hard to see back there:crazy:

Any options to delete the mechanical vacuum pump?

I think I still have a dummy shaft, it is required to drive the oil pump off of the cam gear, but it allows you to remove the vacuum pump. PM me if you are interested.

    ex manifold bolts

Exhaust manifold bolts are interference fit (threads fit tight so they self lock) it is best to use factory bolts. They are metric, and around grade 9.8, about grade 5 equivalent.
