ACC pedal problem? Nothing to worry about?

Yes, please. I'll add this chore to next weekend's preventative maintenance routine. Thanks.

ACC pedal problem? Nothing to worry about?

Truck has been running fine for months now. This morning, I had a harder than normal start. Kind of a stumbling, sputtering, spitting start. When it rumbled to life, there was a split second of an SES light. Just a very quick flash. It coded a 21. "Acc Pedal Position 1 Circuit high" No...

    fuel soloind

You will need to put that resistor in line. The resistor is usually stuck in place on the pins inside the plug on the FSD when you remove the harness. You need to carefully pull that resistor out of the old FSD. This will be next to impossible, if the old FSD is still attached to the side of the...

Best place for 4L80E temp sender?

Well, more good info, and things to consider. Here's a thought, does the ecm on an OBD I vehicle read tranny temp from a sensor someplace? IIRC, I read somewhere that it did, but that may have been for OBD II. Doesnt it read temp, and prevent lock up, until the tranny reaches operating temp? If...

    fuel soloind

Not sure if it would cause the no start, but may cause a problem elsewhere..... When you replaced the FSD, did you dig the resistor out of the old one, and put it into the new one?

Best place for 4L80E temp sender?

Sorry was away for a few days. Thanks for the responses. My gauge is electric, slipped my mind to mention that. I kinda like docdray's set up. Thinking it wouldnt be too tuff to split the line right down beside the tranny itself. Might get the most accurate reading there as it comes strait...

Best place for 4L80E temp sender?

Hey gents, been searching around and cant find any info readily available, here, or elsewhere. Anyone added a temp gauge for their 4L80E, where did you put the sender? Dont have the scratch for an aftermarket pan just yet, or I'd put it in the drain plug there. Wondering if there's a preferred...

Is SAE30R6KX fuel line safe to use on the 6.5?

IIRC, SAE 30 R9 is the viton or equivalent. It's what should be used if you are running any blend of bio, or so I am told. The bio will slowly turn R6 into mush from the inside out.

    Gotta tow heavy, suggestions?

Wasnt aware I could get a non Racor element that would match the Racor fitting. I'll do a bit more research, thanx

    Gotta tow heavy, suggestions?

Thanks for the suggestions guys....... Matt B- Tank was out and cleaned maybe eight months ago, new sending unit and sock at that time. Buddy- Ther's some sort of reflashed chip in there, but it isnt from Heath, so I consider it a mostly stock flash. I have a '93 lift pump on the shelf...

    Gotta tow heavy, suggestions?

I have to put the rig to the biggest test yet. Afraid I may be asking for troubles. Any last minute, inexpensive mods I should be looking at? Dont think I could install a 6BT in time.......:nonod: Have a 30' boat, on new trailer 10500# combined weight north from FL to DC area up I 95 (mostly...

    Help with Odometer/trip meter

Yes, I tried the reset gig, it reset to zero fine, but still no go. Like I mentioned, it's both odometer and trip meter. The speedo is working fine. So being electronic, it must be something bad in the electronics in the speedo head itself. Thanks for the direction....

    Help with Odometer/trip meter

Both, the trip and odometer stopped working today. Speedo still works fine. This comes one day after I replaced the starter. When I topped off the fuel tank last night, I reset the trip odometer, as I always do, since my fuel sending unit is fubar. Keeping track of miles traveled is only way I...

    Starter Bracket!

Thanks for the pics and hints on the heat shield gents. And again my apologies to Diesel Cash for the hijack. I tried bending the tabs in a couple different directions looking for an obvious fix, but nothing seemed to fit. I had to get the thing on the road, so I ended up just bending the tabs...

    Starter Bracket!

Gentlemen, sorry for the quick hijack here, but I'm working in the same area here today. Doing my first starter R&R today. Question I have is the rear side of the heat shield, where does it attach to? Mine was just dangling there, and the tabs that attach to a bolt (somewhere) are kinda mangled...

    Crossover pipe

I did my Warpspeed a couple months back. I was fortunate with getting the bolts out of the manifold, by using a breaker bar and (gently, and with steadily increasing pressure)tightening until I heard the "snap" of them breaking loose. It was a gamble that paid off, they all turned out fairly...

Truck will not start, need help badly....

Sorry for the quick hijack, But curious. Will ABS problems have the same or similar effect in an OBD 1 truck? I've no problems now, but it seems something that could be easily overlooked in the future......thanks

Any options to delete the mechanical vacuum pump?

Probably found answer elsewhere by now, but just in case....On the '82-'87 vintage trucks, the Vac pump is necessary to run the AC/Heater vent doors. The later trucks use electric motors.

    Shocks? Opinions?

Have done a bit of research on this of late. As I will be using mine to carry a slide in camper. IMHO, dont think you could possibly go wrong with the Bilsteins.

    Got timing set today......

Went to my local Stan shop this morning. My TDCO was at +.80, got it set to -1.76. I figured that was a good compromise between -1.50 and -1.94 that seem to be the reported extremes for best fuel economy/best power. Two points of interest. First, after re timing, I noticed my boost pressure...
