Welcome to The Truck Stop Mike! You have nothing to worry about being a new 6.5 owner when you are part of this site. There are plenty of guys on here that really know their stuff when it comes to that engine and are more then willing to help a fellow 6.5'er out when you are in need.
I will take a picture under the truck of the back of the wheel and the caliper, and let you see it first hand. I don't know how I feel about grinding anything down on the caliper myself. JMHO
