    Anyone near Manchester NH?

Yea I have a buddy who's looking at buying a used 6.5, but his range is a little lower than that Crew Cab, and I already called dibbs on that! I'm printing out Missy's write up as we go check out 2 6.5's in the area on Tuesday afternoon. I know I need to get a 6.5 soon cuz I'm continuously...

    Remote coolers, fin/tube or plate?

Be careful when rerouting oil coolers etc, as you can mess with the pressure requirements of the engine and possibly put the engine in jeopardy due to too low pressure or lack of oil. Plate type heat exchanges are far more efficient at heat exchange than shell in tube or tube/fin designs...

    Anyone near Manchester NH?

No thanks. I don't want another 1500, and I want the newer of the 6.5s. I understand about buying from used car dealers, its just that this truck is truely RARE, and it is really what I want. CCSB leather, with less than 150k? very nice. It has dual exhuast, which I've seen once before on a...

    Anyone near Manchester NH?

http://www.neatautosales.com/car.php?StockNum=197&Pic=1 I'm looking at possibly selling my 2008 in my sig and buying this. Semi-new truck prices have gone up and it looks like I may be able to sell this 08 for a little more than what I bought it for!! If so I've got my eyes on this 6.5...

    Battery - Largest Cranking Amps

I bought Caterpillar batteries for 80 bucks each with 900 CCA at 0F and they are awesome. Side terminals are built into the battery along with nice thick lead top terminals.

A Team Turbo A Year Later

On my old 6.5 I relocated the battery to the just forward of the cooling res. It works, you need to pound down the fender a little bit and I made a sheetmetal heat shield for the battery. Here are some pics... http://www.thetruckstop.us/forum/showthread.php?t=5427

    International Diesel in NY quesiton

I know that SSDiesel has them for 150... thats the high volume model. I'm not a huge fan of Walt, but that's one of the only places I seen them up for sale visibly.

    International Diesel in NY quesiton

those are squirters, yes. the 6.5 uses a different system though, because squirters are supposed to be a good thing, and everyone with a 6.5 hates them due to weakening the block. I know the big ole EMD 2-stroke we have here at the school has squirters, and we check the clearance to the piston...

    mechanical or electronic IP

I believe that Burning oil the supporting vendor was the guy who did the swap and kept the auto tranny.

    mechanical or electronic IP

There was a guy on here that ignored what everyone said about the engine/tranny combo computer not working right if you disconnected the engine from the unit and he proved that theory wrong. His truck ran find, he just unplugged the SES light I think, or something like that. For you aces, I...

    Will a ZF-6 bolt up?

IIRC I've seen some conversion kits to make the Duramax ZF-6 a single-mass flywheel... if that was going to be a problem.

    If money wasnt a issue..

The P400 is supposed to be an awesome engine. You do need to make a custom oil pan. the two piece thing is in reference to the fact that it comes with a girdle from the factory I think. Supposedly a different/tuned turbo and injector pump. Rated at 250 HP from the factory. Someone on here or...

Things that decrease your fuel economy

For "S" trucks a messed up EGR system will eat MPG's like crazy. Extra fuel tanks too... i lost 1.5 MPGs with an 80 gal tank full in the bed.

    Will a ZF-6 bolt up?

As many of you may know my 6.5's been gone for a while now, but I'm getting closer and closer to getting back into the game, but since I've got my 08 k1500 I'll have time to do what I want with this truck. it may be a pipe dream, but I'm hoping to take my time and produce an high-power truck...

    Mechanical pump conversion

There are ups and downs to both set-ups. If you want to use bio fuels, the DB-2 is MUCH more tolerant as was previously stated. Without the Optic sensor or anything like that the pump doesn't care what color the fuel is, so long as it pumps. There is merit to the idea of going "backwards" in...
