That's the same one I sent you a couple of months ago. It's still waiting for you:D It's a 3 hour drive to go look at it.
I did sell a pretty heavy duty truck of mine today
It's a 77 GMC 1 ton 2wd dually. 454 turbo 400 tranny. It would pull anything I hooked it up to. The new owner is...
I've been doing my heavy towing with the 92 in my sig that has 3.42 gears and a 4l80e. It works great. Maybe just a little slow taking off from a stop with 10,000+ behind but will pull it 70+ mph in OD. I drop to "D" for 50-55 mph. The key seems to be, to keep it above 1800 rpm.
I had checked the fuses before i bought the kit and may have replaced it even.:???: It apparently blew it again. I hadn't checked it after I did the kit install.:twak: One of the old solenoids must be shorted. Positive comes off the fuse and the ecm supplies ground and senses when solenoids are...
I just ran the VIN and checked the frame over.
It has 3.40 gears:thumbsup::thumbsup:
The frame ,from first real look, is not too bad. It may just get one of the cabs I saved from other junked trucks. I have a rust free but dented 97-2wd white cab. I have fenders also.
Anything other than exhaust that I paint with aluminum paint a put a couple coats of clear engine paint on. The clear is much easier to keep clean than just the aluminum. The aluminum dulls after a while anyhow.
A regular light bulb doesn't care which side is ground and which side is positive. A led can only have positive from one side[led= light emitting DIODE]. The positive and negative reverse from marker to turn signal. With or without the diode set-up you have to run a separate ground to complete...
Chop is my plan at this point. Apparently the son's kids found a permanent marker and drew all over the dash and headliner. The rest of the interior is pretty ratty also. I do have a couple nice 97 extended cabs that I could drop on it though. It depends how rusted the frame is.
And yes I got it...
Sounds to me that you are just throwing parts at it untill you find out what is really wrong. Did you check compression before condemning the engine? Do you have 4" exhaust? Do you have a upgraded air filter? How many miles on the engine and other components? How did it run before you started...
:rolleyes5::rolleyes5:I had another arrival at my 6.5 refuge yesterday. A close friend and his son have had it since it was 3 or 4 years old. It's a 93 k2500hd ex-cab LB 6.5 nv4500.
It has around 275,000 miles on it. The body is rusted badly and the clutch is shot. It does run very...
Bellhousing bolts on the optimiser are metric[10mm x1.5]. Bellhousing bolts on the "599" are standard thread[3/8 nc]. Motor mount to block bolts on a optimiser are metric[10mm x1.5] motor mount to block bolts on a "599" are 3/8 nc. A hydraulics shop or farm equipment shop should have the 1/2 x...
The problems with the fan clutch started when they were new. They were way too late to engage,so they were playing catch-up once they finally did engage.Add 16 years and how many miles and you have a clutch that is dead weight. The oe fan was margainal also. The 9 blade steel fans can be had...
Update
I finally got to figuring out why no shift today. It was throwing codes 81 and 83. I checked the wires from the tranny to the ecm and all were good:???:
:mad2::mad2: Then checked the fuse that powers the transmission. The old solenoids must have blown it. New fuse and all is well. It...
I bought one of the HF US General roller cabinets about a month ago for $349. Very good quality. It compares to boxes that cost double. My only regret is that I didn't buy 2. The top and sides aren't as good of bang for the buck. I'd buy another bottom before the top. They are on sale yet with a...
