What did you do with your GMT400 today...or yesterday....

Yeah, pan is close to the HB but, the bolts go in different from what I recalled in my morning fog. Was about to post that. While trying to find a picture of the studs I did discover why a shouldn’t post so soon after waking up having finally slept in past 3:30… I ‘remembered wrong’ the angles...

You could try studs and nuts. Can’t remember the length and size (M6?) since they have worked well on mine for the past 11 years. Just had to insert the studs at the front after you’ve laid the pan down as the angle makes laying the pan on evenly a non-starter otherwise. Could always use the...

I honestly don't know what's going on with the injectors sorry. WRT to picture two, shown above, this is where I connected my oil feed line for the turbo. I used a brass 45* with short brass pipes to get things up to where access could be had, T'd it for the OPS and the feed line. The lower...

Member 635 has fond memories of his OTR time on US-50 too. I've driven it across the state many times. A few times across NV and to CA as well. Really like the lack of traffic and ease of passing or being passed. Just move along at your own pace. If you're really looking for solitude, try the...

Installed new Rotors and Pads as the old set had developed a bit of a grinding noise on the left. It started right after I had shown my daughter how to retract the caliper piston a bit to get the assy. off when she does her brakes at a later time. Anyway, new set needed breaking in so I went out...

    Finally injection pump leak detected

PM me your email address. I'll send you the complete manual. It is too large at 5.3mb to attach here.

    Finally injection pump leak detected

Maybe have saved you the cost of a gasket kit but, maybe not to your advantage. Unless I'm mistaken, that is the 'advance cover assy. There's a seal under there, not a gasket and, of course, it's a unique one. No idea where to source one. I'll keep looking through the manual to see if it could...

    Glow Plug Harness

Good to know, thanks. Can’t post the link to the site since it competes with Leroy but, having had his set up on my truck for over 12 years, I know where I’d spend my cash and save $10 too.

    Glow Plug Harness

Welcome. I don’t know if Bruce is still marketing on his own as his web address, ptwiringsolutions.com is no longer functioning (links you to other decidedly not diesel stuff). However, he may be marketing through other vendors. Closest match I could find was on Leroy Diesel’s site...

More happy snaps from the races. Morning “Q” waiting for the officials to open the salt. This one went 365+mph at the 5 mile timing line. The qualifying time was closer to 375 on a 355 record. Yeah, bump it a little higher for next year. Once you qualify or go faster than the current record...

Back from another trip to Bonneville where I used the truck as a “Tool Über”. We ran Mursick’s Karman Gia for the season’s last race, World Finals. Loaded the truck up with my road kit plus awning, chairs, cooler, more power tools, spare wire etc. cause the nearest parts store is about a 1.5...

All GPs were removed. The exhaust downpipe wasn’t installed until after we confirmed fuel present and the Glow Plugs, specifically #8, were re-installed. The starter is a non-issue being under the motor and well away. No worries about diesel mist igniting. Not enough heat and zero compression...

After confirming fuel at the FFM, we did the glow plugs removed and disconnecting the glow plug controller for BigT's first start. Took just two 10-15 second iterations before we got mist.
