With those miles, it shows that you take real good care of her Mike! Hey, whats the chance of more going out? Maybe order a few of them? Or is different than a 6.5 when 1 fails...they all go out soon after?
Louis, your gonna smile ear to ear once you have a Duramax. I've had mine for 8 months and I still cannot believe the power it has. The mileage is about the same as my 6.5 was with a whole lot more power. It's kinda unbelievable actually.
Good luck with your search!
I used white pvc pipe in my shop for 12 years with zero problems. Didn't matter if it was -30 or the hottest of days. I painted cars and figured why not use pvc and not have to worry about rust in my lines. I have a 2 stage Davilbiss 6.5 hp compressor hooked up with about 125psi in that pvc...
Hmm. Everything seems normal on the DIC. Hmm. I'll change the filter in fall and cut it open for a look see. For now, the truck runs strong except for the little surge I have going on and a rattle on the drivers side front. I got to pull the wheel off one day and check the caliper situation...
I've had my truck 7 months now, and I'm still at 100% filter life. It was new when I bought the truck, but since then I've gone through winter and I've also done the DIY inj. cleaning.
Does this mean I'm just getting great quality fuel?
Just wondering if this is normal for a d-max...
I done get thhrew hi school. Thats it.
With the career I've had as a printer, I've done alright. Any more schoolin and I would have to move away from my home town in order to find a job. I love living in my small (3500 pop) prairie town. I don't think I'd change things if I had the chance.
1982 ( or was it 83) 6.2 diesel 1/2 ton chevy 2wd. Man that thing did good on fuel. I was 18-19 at the time. It's been too long I can't remember. I did have a few cars and bikes before that, but this was my first truck.
Welcome to this awesome site!
I also believe this to be a ground problem. Never just "look" at the ground and think it's in good shape. Remove the bolt/washer and clean underneath it. You'd be surprised what's underneath a clean looking ground!
Congrats Forest. What a huge power difference from a 6.5 eh? I'd love to see some pics of your new ride.
As for more stuff to do...look up and do the DIY inj cleaning. It's worth it IMO.
