If you have that much white smoke, and it is diesel, you need to get that checked sooner, rather than later. If you have an injector PEEING instead of spraying, you can melt a piston in a hurry. The reason being that you don't have proper atomization and all the heat of cumbustion can be...
Thanks guys, that explains a lot. Any idea what sustained PSI will cause too high of egt's? Don't have a guage yet. Should I be worried about my current settings?
When Dieseldad and I were working on his truck, we were discussing the results of the our trucks going into limp mode. Each of us had some questions that I could not find the answer to in the ref. material, so maybe some of you brilliant all knowing people can shed some light the the subject...
Thanks a lot! I had fun and making friends is where it's at. I would do the same for anyone of you. Gerald (dieseldad) is a great guy and I enjoyed working with him. There is only one problem, his truck would probably beat mine now.:nono: Before this, I would have hosed him!):h
Does it blow lots of volume, but only warm? If so you need to flush your heater core.
If it does not blow very good, you may have a diverter flap stuck half way between hot and cold, or the heater core or ac coil are gunked up.
Do the 1500's and 2500's have the same style of hub? I know when my front driver side went, it was noisy as heck, but didn't fail. Seems to me the 2500's have a different hub. No spindle, but an entire assembly that is replaced and the drive shaft goes through the center. Changes out in about an...
Should be fun, I'm looking forward to it. Picked up some stuff to make boost setup for him, cost me 13 bucks, low pressure gauge 7.95 0-15 psi, brass barbed fitting, plastic pressure line. Cheap hugh? Good enough to get started, until he buys something pretty, kinda like the avatar pics he uses...
We've been through this before.

May be helpful.
Mine still does it vary rarely, usually when the truck is really hot, been driving for an hour or so and has sat idling for a bit. I think it is the ECM. Not to...
My cruise cut out due to the brake switch needing adjustment. My friend made the adjustment for me, took him 2 seconds. He said it needed to be rotated forward, the cruise thought the brakes were being applied and wouldn't engage. Never a problem since. Also if the TC is not locking, it may not...
You should be able to reuse the breather and filler hose clamps again. That is it for clamps, the fsu has threaded fittings, I think. The filler hose and breather hose can be a bit difficult. Get between rubber and fitting with a flat screwdriver and loosen them up, should come off easily after...
Make sure the tank is empty, I know it's a no brainer, but it put me in a bad spot. Be sure to support the tank with some rope or wire or whatever while you loosen the straps. This will prevent your steel FSU lines from kinking until you have enough room to undo them. That's what happened to me...
There is no way you would drive 400 miles without issue with that stinky snotty sock. Been there, and never got that far. As for the fuel cap, on the other site some other guy almost cold cocked me for saying the tank didn't need to be under negative pressure. The idea was the fuel would foam up...
What is the status of your stinky tank sock? Any chance your getting starvation due to blockage? Blow back into the tank through the fuel line and see if that temporarily clears it up. Can't hurt. You may have thought of this already.
I would tend to think that if it was sucking air, it would get worse as the engine demands more fuel and sucks harder on the fuel line. Could be a plugged tank sock, but that usually causes higher RPM stumbling and even stalling. That was my experience. I'm with MGW on this one. Sounds like...
Glad you figured it out. I was looking at that system myself, and now you were giving me second thoughts. Glad it wasn't a mfg's flaw. I think that type of setup is the ticket!
