You said it! My buddy and I were talking about that when I put the scoop on top. Need a junker hood to practice on with a die grinder and some fiberglass.
Hey everyone. Felt ambitious this week, and decided to build myself a "true" cold air intake, not just an elbow with a filter on it. I teach introductory sheet metal, so I have access to some tools that make life little easier on a project like this. I had to flatten the top of the fender well...
Sweet. Just a thought here, when I flushed mine, I also flushed the heater core in reverse, so from the rad back to the therm. housing, and I got chunks of rubber to come out that had been blocking my heater core coolant flow. Couldn' hurt. FYI, the rubber was from the AC delco "million dollar"...
Get rid of dexcool, green is more common and less finnicky. Put a garden hose in the bypass port and run about 20 gallons of water through the block, that should be good enough to put in long life green, it worked for me. The rad takes about 15 min. to remove, so I would suggest, as Matt did, to...
Congradulations Art, you spent some serious cash on this project, and the best part is you're not disappointed! GLE or GL4 are in near future for me too, but I need to get pyro setup done first. Wouldn't mind doing a test drive with you sometime to see the difference. Who know's maybe I will...
You could just have air in the line. Stupid question, but have you tried cracking the line while it is running to bleed off any air? I have heard it will tick with air trapped inside. Just a thought, good luck.
The connector change is an assanine thing to do. Now if we want to carry a spare, it has to have the same connector as the new module. Forget it. I have Dtech now, and will from now on. I say screw 'em!
May sound silly, but it could be an exhaust vibration, and when you have the truck in drive with the brake on, it causes everything to torque just enough to be louder than otherwise. Just a thought.
You're a luck man! I had a similar experience 2 years ago, but no ABS light. The axle wasn't busted either, but it nearly locked up on me. Those bearing assemblies are expesive up here, but the replacement was fairly easy on the 2500. Should be a routine maintenance check, both front wheel...
