Hi Guys,
Not sure who is all checkin' the conversion section, but I thought I would introduce my upcoming project. My 6.5 cracked a block or head or something, so that was all the coaxing I needed to look at other options. I recently bought a 1992 dodge D350 cummins with 224000kms on the...
Heath told me it can be a sign of a weak IP. Don't know if that is the case. Mine does it sometimes when it is hot, but I have a new IP, so my conclusion, for my issue anyway, is ECM issue how ever minor.
Well, I think I solved the oil issue. Turbo blew a seal and engine oil is coating the intake heavily. Thank God I found a used turbo 2 miles way for 50 bucks. Don't know if it is an 8 or 4 or what ever, as long as it works. I have to say, the 6.5 thing is starting wear on me, a Cummins...
I am miffed!
Problem 1:
This summer I was pulling my camper down to Grand Forks ND to spend the weekend, got there and noticed my overflow tank was puking coolant. That was a downer for sure. Tried not to think about it too much, topped up the coolant for the ride home, no issues, but when I...
No need, just read this thread, step by step instruction are later in the posts. This is the proper way to get a fast idle.

Your PMD failure does not mean pump failure. If you go to Pensacola Injection, I have found thier prices the best and service excellent. Don't even remove the old one, just mount the new outside the engine bay.
My truck runs 5-6psi idle and about 2.5psi WOT. I have a FTB mod. It is a Carter stock LP, but for now it gives me all the fuel I need. That may change once Wester's is on board. We will see.
The ball joint is mounted under the A-arm. I don't think it would even work the other way. The brake hose forward, front. The hose won't reach if you clamp it rear.
It's really at your own discretion. If you rebuild it, and it works out, you have a cheap turbo, and you know what has been done to it. I am sure you could pick up a good used one (GM8) for about 300 bucks or less. Then there is the ATT option, but as you said, if your on a tight budget, the GM8...
Why not both? The intercooler is low maintenance and constant, the mister will need attention, depending on how much you use it. There are those that run both. I have read that when employing an intercooler and mister, pre turbo nozzle placement is the most efficient. Turbine atomizes the water...
It can be a sign of the injection pump failing, the filings return to the tank with return fuel. I can't say for sure, but it has been mention quite a few times.
