Anyone know the part number/know where I can get ahold of/want to sell me a block heater cord?
My block heater is iss till there, but there is no chord for it.
That's a big part of it for me, too. The fact that there is a cable that i control, not a bunch of transistors, capacitors, rheostats and resistors that controls fuel delivery.
Plus, it just seems like on our diesels, it's just the logical choice.
Truth be told, when I first got my truck...
Damn, no PMD? What ever are we gonna do?
??
(The more and more I hear you talk about the conversion, the more and more I want to do the conversion RIGHT now!)
I have not done the conversion, but will be doing it when i rebuild my motor.
Ratman has done the conversion and swears by it. He loves it.
The only catch that he mentioned to me is the lack of cruise control.
The easiest way to clear codes is to remove the fuse for ECM for 30 seconds. Done it several times and checked several times with a scanner to make sure that it cleared the code. (This recommendation is per the Chilton manual)
Wow, I didn't even think of that.
I just popped the rheostat (sp?) out that control the dimming for the console and the interior lights. I pulled the rheostat apart, looked at the logic, then spliced into the line coming off of it to the instrument panel.
Granted, it only took me about 5...
Now that there's some funny shit!
:)
Thanks for the suggestion on the dual hose clamps, Tim. I was thinking about that today, so it seems I was onto a good thought.
Thanks for the info. I should have just fixed it when I replaced the head gasket, but I was lazy. Oh well. I'll get it fixed within the next week. Right now I pretty much only drive it to work, about 8 miles, where I get another truck to go work.
Do you have the specs on the fitting that...
As I think I have said in the past, I am planning a rebuild or to build up a new motor anyways, so I just need this one to limp on until I can do so.
I am very meticulous when it come to building things up. You know, the kind of guy that measures 8 times and cuts once, so when I build up a new...
Upon further inspection, it looks like I am losing coolant out of that stupid feed line to the heater core. You know, the one that the geniuses over at GM decided to use a clip to hold it in place.
Don't have the coin to fix it correctly right now, so I will either end up putting coolant in...
