JJ, you CAN use the 4500HD with the 6.5. BUT....there are a couple of things you'll want to do first.
#1 - You need to replace the input shaft with one that is compatible with the GM. The HD version is longer and larger in diameter, IIRC.
#2 - You'll need to change the bellhousing.
#3 -...
Keep in mind that in order for the fusible link to function properly, it should be 4 gauges smaller than rest of the circuit.
This means that if your circuit is 10 gauge, your fusible link should be 14 gauge, for example.
Here is a link where you can buy fusible link wire...
Here is the thread on it. IMO it is worth the money. It's more efficient than the GM series turbo, plus it's non-wastegated so there's really no chance of over boost.

what size of tire are you running? That would make a difference. Too small and you're not going as far per RPM. Too big and you're using more fuel to go the same distance.
My rig is off on the speedo and the odo. It's got 245's on it right now. The VSSB is set for 265's. I am trying to...

The most common and arguably best location for the PMD is directly behind the front bumper. Anywhere outside of the engine compartment (and interior of the truck for that matter) is good.
You should be able to use the same heatsink, just mount it in the location mentioned. You'll want to...
So THAT'S what my rig looked like when it was new...except for the interior. I'd buy it just for the damned interior.
Actually, I'd buy it, then swap the motor and interior over into my rig.
Do the heads really weight 90# each? I would have guessed closer to 50#.
Even still, I was able to do it without much difficulty. Slow and easy wins the race.
X2 on chasing the threads. I forgot about that. Definitely a good idea.
Head gasket job isn't really that hard, all things considered.
Passenger side is a lot more involved than drivers side, though, due to the turbo.
Passenger side will be a lot easier if you pull the inner wheel well. That opens everything up for you.
Remove the accessories on the front of the...
Good luck with it, Dur0maxx. One thing to keep in mind, though, is that while they are great trannies, I have heard that they can be very expensive to maintain and repair.
But I totally understand the allure. I want to swap my NV4500 for a ZF6.
Or one day down the road do a fully D-max/Ally...
Looks like he is using the factory intake host. He just has the CDR intake connection plugged and it appears his CDR is vented to atmosphere.
As for the A-team turbo...tis a thing of beauty. I got a bit teary eyed just looking at it. *sniff*
