Ones I no longer own..
1973 Sears ST16
I picked this one up earlier this year at a local auction. It was just about showroom new, hardly used. 35 years old.
I got it for $440 and sold it on ebay for $1875 a few months ago.

You could reweld that part of the hat channel you cut out back in to help restore some strength. Just bang it into the gap and weld the long edges. Bang it in upside down.
Looking good.
Yea the Duramaxes don't have lift pumps at all... in stock form. Same CP3.
Good point about weight of fuel. Hard acceleration gforces to contend with. I would think higher pressure/smaller lines is the key to getting the fuel from the tank to the CP3. Jump back up to a big line going into the...
Agreed, less load on the pump but the higher loads are only spikes during a hard accel or dyno. I did say it doesn't hurt to do it since it's not that much work or that expensive.
Was just thinking if a 3/8" hose was pushing fuel at some high rate you'd be out of fuel in a very short time...
I didn't think your batteries would vibrate at all "within" that setup. That wasn't what I meant. A little rubber goes a long way though in absorbing some of the vibs that perpetuate through the frame from roads, driveline and anything else. Actually having the batteries locked hard with zero...
I would think the FASS would more than make up for volume restriction from the tank to the FASS just by shear brute force.
The sump idea looks good. I do like it except you no longer have the benefit if not sucking up excess water and dirt in the event of a bad tank of fuel. With the sump setup...
Yea those were fun times. Lots of things have changed I'm sure for most of us. My 19 year old daughter is joining the Air Force. I have four grandchildren from my older daughter. Lots of other family things, other interests, job changes. Not a ton of time for hobbies but hopefully in the near...
Mine does the exact same thing every so often. It goes away and comes back for short periods of time. No issues, no engine light. I'm thinking it may be fuel related.
