It is DEFINETLY something electrical, I wiggled the TCM and ECM wiring and checked codes, No U1000, truck is REALLY trying to crank, it bumps over like it wants to.
I have a copy of GM's service manual and am in the process of looking up in it the procedures for a DTC U1000, but I have no Tech...
Got a BUNCH like maybe 10 codes all U1000 Class 2 Data Link
2 TCM requesting MIL
main fuel flow rate2 from -512 to 72.5 average of 98.1
timing 0.0-4.0 avg of 1.7
actual fuel rail pressure avg. 2803 / desired 6092
coolant 79*
RPM average of 36, 233 max
is that class 2 data...
Every now and then a TCM requesting MIL
once or twice a U1000 Class 2 Data Link
2 airbag codes
and some wheel speed sensor codes that have been there since before motor blew.
Here ya go, sounds worse than it is. I just watched it, is that a spark about where the battery's ground goes???http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8xrV3JkgIu4 never mind think that is paint on the power steering pulley, if you enlargen it you can tell.
ok battery on, MUCH better, letting it charge now. Still kinda cuts out, can't tell if fuel delivery is cutting out or if starter is cutting out, just got the starter yesterday, from autozone.I wish you guys could hear it.....will see if I can figure out how to upload a video/audio
ok hookeed up a battery that is not in great condition and it already seems better, gonna buy a new one, let em charge for 10 minutes or so and see what happens.

ok just went out there this morning tried to turn over, same thing but my radio clock reset to 12:00 like I disconnected the battery and re-connected it, it seems to do that everytime I try to crank, battery voltage was showing 12v on cluster, I'm sure it's pretty close with efilive logging as...
yea could be, didn't bleed the system after until it died. I'll hook another battery up and loosen some fuel lines, try to let some air out again.
Thanks stacks.
FPRV was finger loose. Fired right up, ran 15-20 minutes with heavy white smoke, died won't crank again, turns over a lil different now, burnt up a starter and a Optima Red Top, replaced both. It turns over, stops, turns over and stops again all with key held over.
Wifey snapped the clockspring...
I've taken glowplugs out and tried cranking, no fuel.......
I've cranked it with cp3 electrical connector and rail pressure sensor disconnected.......no go
pulled fuel lines, no fuel or VERY LITTLE comes out.
my rail pressure is less than 200 psi while cranking.
Well I've busted my ass since Tuesday. After many showers my body reeks of oil, diesel and grease. I have more bumps, bruises, scratches and more sore than I have ever in my life. Physically I turned this shortblock into a longblock and installed it by my damn self. Not one hand helped other...
Thanks.
I talked to Ben and he's helped out a great deal. I've bled the filter several times even the WIF plug, it's really close to cranking seems like, it's trying.
I did read FRPACT with Efilive, which is actual rail pressure and it shows 180 before I crank and approx 180 while I crank...
well still the same kinda. Seems the more I mess with the WIF plug the faster she turns over, and a bit comes out everytime I open it. I'm wondering if there was water/condensation in the lines after sitting so long.. Maybe a long shot but I'm gonna change the fuel filter and see if it starts...
Well I've got her in and everything hooked up. She'll turn over but not crank. Getting fuel because I have a small leak on a return line. Anyone? I've primed the fuel twice if not three times. Checked with efilive and there were a lot of codes, all lost comm. with different modules, cleared em...
Head studs on..........:holyshirt: 4 times the torquing!!!! Good god that was exhausting....and then I realized my torque wrench was out of spec.......:pissed::mad2: Anyway the pic below is me after finishing the passenger side, yes just the passenger side, remember I don't weigh a whole...
