Hi gyes
On my Silverado, 1995, the ABS light has started to come on at some point every day, but disapear again after some minutes.
Brakes are working fine, but some times the pedal will feel hard and make a surring noise. Like it will not sink as deep as it use to, and kind of vibrates and...
I remember the red metal name plate on the back but not the name. Yea when i changed fluid it did not look bad. My shaft if one piece, but thanks anyway for info about if it was in two pieces.
Reckon I better write down some numbers and take a look at the one on the burb.
Maybe i can cure it...
Thanks schiker. I hope that your suggestions will help.
In the meantime I run over a Burb that is sold as parts.
Would that transfercase eventually fit on my pickup if both vehicles are 1500´s ? and same year
Thanks :-)
Handcannon, thanks that´s a very good describtion you give me here, and I thank you for illustrating with pictures too. Great.
I just want to be sure, you are talking about your 265/75/16 tires ? -and the clearance problems have been with them ?
Thats the standard size (At least for my...
Hi gyes
Planning to put on 33x12,5 tires on the truck. She´s currently on standard 265x75.
Will I need to order the rims with a certain back spacing or will a standard 8 in wide, 15 in rim fit and leave clearence in the wheel well ?
Looking forward to your replies, and to get some decent...
Hi again 6,5 experts :hello:
More 6,5 questions from a confused dane.
Looked at my PMD-plug today and realized that it did not have that tiny green calibration resistor plate in the buttom of the plug, that some says needs to be there. It´s a black Stanadyne PMD dated 2007
Truck runs and...
Just currius about the advice given here.....
I just put reman injectors in mine, and think that loosening the nuts on three of the injectors on the pass side will be totally impossible with the turbo and heat shields in place, and engine running. ?? The one in the back is tight to get too...
Allrighty, but will it then show a code constantly until the ECM is equipped with a different chip ? -or can the vacum hose be rerouted to fool the SES light to stay off ?
By the way, good illustrations Paveltolz. Thank you :)
I am guessing too, that your leak is from where the two rubber lines behind the fuel filter housing, mounts on the metal lines going down behind the engine, to the lift pump.
Yep, it`has EGR. Intake under the valve has some layer of sooth on it. She`ll problably be happy to get rid of exhaust,
- but I realize, from reading in here, if I disconnect EGR, the truck will need a different thing to plug into the ECM to prevent the SES light to stay on. ?
Hi
:hello:
Had my intake manifold and turbo off to change injectors, and the intake is nasty inside from oil probably from the breathing hose.
Wonder if I can just let the breath away in a hose under the truck, and out in the back, instead of having the engine to eat oily air ?
It´s not...
Oh, to correct my self, the dash light DOES work as it should when I turn the light switch. But when I need headlights in front of her, I have to use normal driving lights, (Step 0 on the switch) wich means no dash lights. Sorry
From reading posts in here I understand that the headlight relay is to be found on the grey under dash panel to the left of the brake pedal.
Well.. My truck does not have one, :hihi: only a retrofitted drivers light relay is found dangling down there, getting its power-signal from...
The new fuel filter element I installed this fall has started leaking around the plastic nut/spinner on the top of the FFM.
Got it tightend down until plastic meets the metal of the FFM, but it still leaks.
Is it common for a new filter element with a new o-ring to start leaking this early...
All righty gyes. Thank you.
Been away for the forum some days do to traveling, but should pretty soon get more quality time with that old lady.
I will not be much into rewiring something myselv thats going to be connected to a 230 volt plug, so I did some search on converters like you...
Gyes, just realized that my truck has an block heater, but the cord has the american plug telling me that it is 120 volt.
Guess i better not plug it to my danish 220 voltage systems on the farm with out an power converter, or does the system has one built in maybe ?
Getting cold ;) Thanks
I actually don´t remember but they were in a white box with red lettering. Actually the name seems familiar, so it could be.
But since it did not change anything to replace the old ones, I am not likely to think that glow is the problem right now.
Yea, I installed them this summer, and cleaned alle connectors, ...which did not change anything on the starting issue either.
Think I am gonna try a few more things and, if they do not help, fill out the troubleshooting form in here with all the things I have done so far. :smash:
Today I got the right relay, and I noticed one big difference compared to the old one.
The new one is glowing about twice as long as my old one, and has a way softer "Click" when it is done glowing.
Unfortunately the truck still needs little too long cranking before it starts. Seems like I...
Every once in a while mine will quit working too, -and when turning the viper contact all the way to "fast" a funny sound will start from the wiper motor.
Then i wriggle the connection plug, and they will start viping again.... for a period.
