Are you thinking of the oil feed that goes from the pump to the auxiliary valve body? The older one doest have the auxiliary valve body so your right that it would have to be plugged.
I could do that but it will lock as soon as it goes into 4th and i dont want it to do that. The early 700 with the hydraulic lockup will shift into 2nd 3rd or 4th and then lockup after getting going a little faster in that gear. It will be wired like that but i want the older setup with the...
Im putting together a suburban with a 6.2 and 700r4 for my my girl friend so she has something that has more room for our little boy and im wanting to make it as simple to drive as possible for her. i have a 92 700r4 that i just built but i have it setup for a toggle switch for the lockup and...
So if im reading this right you got you whole set of rings for $90?
I have 4 engines id like to build and this would be nice. Sounds like it would only work for 3 of them though because my GEP needs bored due to pitting.
Did it break the ear of the block off? Or can you get the broken bolt out and put new ones in it? Was the starter brace on the other end of the starter that bolts to the block?
As far as converting it to mechanical ip its alot of work you have to put your throttle pedal and cable in and then...
Its not that bad i put a new pass side head on my 3500 and it took about a day to do but that was with a few parts runs out to my 6.2-6.5 parts collection at my parents and with pulling the oil pan. Not to mentiom it was only about 25 degrees out and i didnt have any heat in my garage until i...
Ive got a military takeout NA 6.5 in my 3500 with 4911 pump and gm8 turbo and i have no smoking problems. The engine runs excellant and has plenty of power. I recently hauled a load of junk and was weighing 13500 pounds combined and it pulled it without a problem in the world. NA 6.5 precups...
I just put new hubs and ball joints on it. I did check the brakes and they are not sticking can turn both tires with one hand. I havent checked for codes yet will do that tonight. And yeah the rpms just go up to prolly around 12-1300 then it starts to move. In reverse all you have to do is let...
Fluid and filter changed 5000 milea ago fluid is nice and red has some bubbles like its airrating when its running but otherwise looks good and smells good.
Caliper as in brake caliper? Its got new calipers and pads. Like i said when its in reverse its fine but when you put it in drive you cant...
Ive noticed in the morning when im leaving it feels like 1st is slipping. Reverse is fine but when i put it in drive and take off it seems like the truck is so hard to move and im on the throttle more to get moving. After it shifts through the gears a couple times its fine and takes off normal...
I thought i might have had that backwards.
Im not sure how many miles are on the engine but when i had the pan off there was no wear at all. It was a military takeout that i bought. The timing chain had barely any slop at all. If i had to guess id say maybe 15 to 20 thousand milea at the most...
So changed out my ip because of a miss at idle and now when i get it up around 3000 rpm it cuts out and puts out white smoke. When i first put it on it would do the same thing around 1500 to 2000 rpm. I adjusted the advance on the side of the pump so it wouldnt move until about half throttle and...
The 120-130 is cruising down the road barely on the throttle if I stop it it shoots up to around 180-190. When I built it I got the kit with the alto 3-4 clutch. I also put in a corvette servo, borg Warner high energy band, a new stock sunshell and the .500 boost valve
I finally got around to checking my line pressures at idle in park I got 75 psi, in reverse I got 135, manual 1st was 125 if I remember right. The gauge was nice and smooth and and when I pulled out on the cable at idle it went up to 150 or 160. Going down the road in all gears it stayed right...
What all has to be done to be able to switch them? I read that on the older ones the tcc is done hydraulically and the newer ones are done by the ECM so I guess there's nothing wrong with mine it's just not the setup I want. So I guess that explains why I like my old one better.
I've tried that. The old one had 3 pressure switches and the new one only has one for 4th gear lockup. I wish I could use the old valve body but I don't think it'd work.
