how do the bores look? did you check it to see which bearings are turned? IMO, that motor(6.2l) deserves another kick at the can...LOL
do you think the galling on the 6.5l was from the type of cement that you used( to much expansion with the heating cycles)? or because the spec was a bit to...
we are not down-pipe friendly for that yet.... the down-pipe on the truck is custom made for the H1C, for a waste gated model it needs to move back 1"... started a 3" universal down pipe today that will be made out of nissan pathfinder running boards... all nice heavier than exhaust pipe mandrel...
the one thing to consider is that with any db-4 the max plunger size is .310", there is not enough meat left in the rotor to accept anything bigger.... and head and rotors from 6 cylinders are not compatible with 4 and 8 cyl, models....
The shop got back to us, this morning.....good to go for Monday 2 April. The rate is $150.00/hr in 1 hour blocks...LOL.
Being a mechanically injected truck and non-gated turbo, it is difficult to try different tunes. Just to say we do not have adjustments that can easily be done in that time...
Will be going pedal to the metal..... on our tach now, it shows 3800-3900rpm. Will be hopefully an opportunity also to check the calibration of our tach (depending on where they will take signal from).
From all of the reading and research we have done on the different pumps, we have came to...
We saw how Andrew Ashwell, did his with the 3/16" thick phenolic spacers (never found any in the garbage yet...LOL), but we did the best we could....Jeff says we don't live next door to NASA's garbage can yet....so we just use the OEM gaskets.....still need to set up a IAT gauge, just got the...
Your .005" fall right in the middle of what we got here for specs, .004" to .006" on the rears. Maybe with the block-fill the cylinders deformed a bit down low (at concrete) or the fill retains heat more. Either way, think that a bore would be a good precaution, and go on the high side of...
Red, we have been running this motor now since Dec 2011, it is our DD/WT....got a Caprice sitting here waiting for its 6.5L. With the first pump settings we used (to allow parts to get to know each others...LOL), we had 10 psi boost @WOT. With the mods to the 2831(.310" plunger), we now get to...
yeah its for the dip stick, that is version 1.0, now we cut it alot lower , but with the first one it was machined to run the hummer pan, and it has a slightly different angle to the dip-stick...or might be a relief for the contours of the pan. The next one we made, we moved the stud holes in...
Gonna try to post for the wrapping of the manifolds and cross-over and down pipe. After that, the tail pipe and muffler were removed and wire-brushed prior to a high-heat black (rust inhibitor). The next is the heat shielding done to the bottom of the F-code.
Okay, first two are of the girdle, made to fit with any of the 6.2/6.5L oil pans. The next two are the O-ring mod to the heads, to eliminate the ARP studs from allowing coolant seepage into the valve train area of the head. When motor was originally prepared for the "Pugg", we were thinking to...
okay guys, this is a little break-down of the motor that we are running right now.... just to clairify things a bit, this is not anything really special, the "project motor" that we talk about a bit is nowhere ready to go to the dyno yet, unless we put all the pieces on a pallet in the back of...
We found a shop, only 2hrs away, just waiting on confirmation of date (we requested next Monday, 2 April), and pricing. They also have a spring dyno May 12, 2012. We will also be going then, with a few more changes and be able to compare now with then......do not know what we will have for #'s...

:agreed: This is exactly the route that we are proceeding in......we would like to do a tweek, test run it to verify usability then flow bench it to see what the #'s actually are. This combined with a dyno and all our gauge readings will give me plenty of info to crunch for a least a...
find us a dyno down there and we will pick up your 20.00 on the way by...LOL... but really, do you know of any dynos in the city, or laval, or the south shore that can take diesel trucks? by the way, hi from jim and jeff in tremblant...LOL
The base-line that we have is 6.5's dyno sheet from the sticky's in the tech forum...... he pulled just over 203rwhp. This is good, being that they were factory rated at the crank @ 190hp.
here is his info and...
