So I put a new 195* tstat in and a new temp sensor. Not much difference, although now I can see that when the temp hits 205* it cools down to 195*, then goes back up.
I did pull the fan clutch and did the fan clutch mod, the clutch is covered with old oil, I wonder if it working all that...
Wait til you have to replace the alternator! It is crammed between the engine and the firewall.
I had a 03 Escape, I had to the alternator twice in one day!
She has 230,000 on the clock, the front seats were reupholstered 2 years ago.
It has only been drive ~4000 miles in the last year.
Thanks everyone!:hello:
Okay, that is what I was curious about, I wasn't sure if it would be like that or not.
I am putting in a new 180* Tstat tomorrow anyhow just in case.
Thanks Paul!
it does have the sensor, I think I will be doing a T-stat in the morning and wee where that goes.
No leaks that I could see, a new cap and I cleaned the radiator stack.
If it were just the heat I could see it being a dirty radiator but I cleaned it anyhow.
New 15# cap and the oil looks good. I am thinking T-stat or it is just low on coolant. The reservoir is only about half full when the engine is completely warmed up.
There is no smoke and the exhaust doesn't smell like coolant.
Atleast if the head gaskets are toast they are easy to do!
So it is a bit warmer out today, the ECT was a bit high @ 200, but here is the weird part, there is very little pressure on the upper radiator hose and I opened the reservoir with no issues at all.
How much pressure should be in the cooling system? The cap is rated at 15# so I would assume...
The smaller exhaust output of the ATT brings the drive pressures up, while the HX bring them down due to a larger exhaust output, correct?
More pressure=quicker spool...
Question for you guys with more experience, would you choose this turbo upgrade over the Walking J?
I am leaning towards the Walking J turbo and tune for my Burb, just curious what you would choose?
So this weekend I picked up a really clean '94 6.5T Suburban for a DD so I can restore my '78 Bronco.
I really like it so far, can't wait to do some mods to it.
Plans include a relocated PMD, #9 resistor, either a HX40WII Turbo or the Walking J Turbo (most likely will go with the Walking J...
My former DD (78 Bronco now being stripped down for a frame off resto) is a 4 speed kinda! It has a NP435 with a 6.69:1 first.
The new to DD is a 94 Suburban 6.5T auto.
