I haven't had anytime to work on it more. My plan is to media blast inside the area and then spray it with POR15. I have patches for the area just need to find the time to do the work!
Is it normal for the clearcoat on these wheels to peel?
I picked a set with great rubber and 2 of them are peeling quite significantly. I got the 4 wheels with 5 60-70% tread tires for $200.
I am thinking of painting them either black or silver unless there is a way to solve the peeling...
Finally back to working on the project!
Started by cutting out the floor on the driver side and the lower post
Still have some more to do here.
Then started on sanding the hood.
Someone put alot of time into getting this hood to look nice, the whole thing has a nice skim of filler, I see no...
I have a Heath Dmax fan and HD clutch. The AC blow much cooler and the engine cools down quicker when it gets hot.
I am pretty sure the temperature gauge is totally wrong so I don't know for sure what it is actually running until I get some after market gauges.
Mine turned 240,000 this weekend.
It has some blowby, but not terrible, runs great and plenty strong.
I was just curious what kind of miles other 6.5 engines are running.
I have never actually heard the lift pump run at all, it doesn't run when the ignition is just on.
Hell I was looking and didn't see it on the frame rail, is it in the tank on the sending unit?
So it is the lift pump relay? Interesting, there are 2 power leads that have been added, I know one is for the brake controller, the other may be for the lift pump.
I will have to look into that.
So while looking for a reason that my stereo stopped working I found this relay unplugged.
It is on the firewall behind the fuse/battery block cover and I have no idea what it is for.
Another thing is when I use my signals, brakes, windows or just about anything my voltage drops big...
Got the springs finished up today and put them on the frame.
Going to get the rear axle painted tomorrow, I need new U bolts and spring plates (because of the zero rates).
Got one of the leaf packs assembled today, new bushings (what a pain in the ass), new pads and ORD Zero Rates to recenter the axle in the wheel well.
I did find a good way to get the bushings out though, wedge a cold chisel in the loop and press them out with a 6" clamp.
