    This thing needs some love

:iagree: A few years ago, I had an antique Lyman boat for sale. I had the same type of response from some one making it all sound too easy. They were going to have it shipped to Holland for a Christmas present.:icon_bs: I agree that it is strange that people fall into these pits of deception.

    Old Wooden Boats

I have a 1957 Lyman runabout. 19 feet. It was my Dad's. Power is a 109 Graymarine.I drove that tub for 32 years and it never let me down. I picked up a 1978 21' Thompson 4 years ago (glass) and use that now. The Lyman is in dry dock having hull and rib repairs done. It will be back in the water...

    Cheap ramps

Good idea. A 2x10 for the bottom and stacked 2x8's would make for more stability. If you got real creative you could make them higher as well.

I had same symptoms, but no smoke. Pulled the heads and I had a blown head gasket on the driver side. I replaced both gaskets. It took me 20 hours to do the job.
