I am Joking. The D5 stays at the cabin. It is fun too shoot though, I have nothing that go through 2" thick plate steel cutting blades ):h
not yet that is . . . . . mmmm, Cheytac M 200
Anyways, back on track. I have seen some great milage with my HY 35W
Just to throw it out there, I have tuned my truck a little more accurately and have gotten 22 MPG on my last long trip (320 miles) with 0 stops.
So just to let everyone know, there is a solid combo out there that can make great power, last long and get great milage.
I was actually scared...
I have not posted on here in a while but I would just like to put it out there that I have over 50K miles now on my new engine and turbo combo.
I have been getting 18-19 miles per gallon with the HY35. I run 18-22 Psi max and have been running very good. No problems in heat, I just towed a...
Yes, an 1970 Nova.
Well, I would like to have someone go look at it maybe this weekend or the following weekend.
I would like someone to REALLY look at it, check the quarters, drive it, listen to it, shift it (its a 4 speed).
Let me know if this is do-able.
I want to buy another one...
I need a connection in SC to go and look at Nova for me.
I want to make the trip to buy the car but need peace of mind and an OK from somone else that the car is not a pile of junk.
If someone were willing to help me out, I would gladly take them out for nice dinner and few brew-skis as...
I received my engine from Peninsular and called about the oiling of the motor. I was told that the plugs did not have to be removed and it would run as it sat.
The plugs were installed in the block and I was told that I did not need to hook up an oil cooler, so I just never did it.
I have...
I just took mine off.
I have no oil cooler on mine any more.
Engine still stays cool, under 180 F all the time. Oil does not break down.
The key is to run synthetic oil. Mobile 1 all the way.
I remember that if you cut the crown of the piston, you are asking for issues. If you do that, you will be removing the anodized coating that protects the aluminum from the extreme heat.
I would call Peninsular Diesel. They sell low compression pistons.
Wow, that car is set up!
That would be great to get that to spool up, hit a tight track and make some headlines showing up gassers at a road track.
Cool stuff man, I am jealous. ):h
This is what I have on my truck. I think that the "blocky-ness" of the old body style needs more of a blocky bumper, like the ranch hand. My 2 cents . . .
From what I have experienced, call up Peninsular Diesel and buy a long block and bolt on a different turbo (holset, ATT, etc) , especially with that weight. Their engine has a 2 year warranty and from what I have put mine through, I would say it is bullet proof.
My truck starts in -40 F, on the first crank, with the standard glow time, every time.:smile5:
I replace my glow plugs every 2 years and am able to do it so easily because the down pipe that I made for my truck creates full access to ALL on the passenger side.
Your the man! I am at limited internet access right now. Kind of why I was looking for someone to take charge on this. Where I moved to, AT&T has just started to put in high speed internet so I am still only able to go on-line at work (like right now). But thank you for taking the initiative...
