    Is the new 4.5 Duramax a good option for the HD Series?

    They won't scrap the concept or the motor, they have to offer something everybody can be happy with. However they should make a motor like the 6.6, that can do the same things and have the same strength but in a smaller package that can get 30 mpg.

    I am not totally convinced yet that this motor has promise in a HD truck. So far all evidence has pointed out it would be in a 1/2 ton platform. So i voted maybe.

    Buying a new truck

    i don't need a diesel or a truck either but I find uses. All the dmaxes are good options, remember that a diesel can last longer than a gas engine due to its design. So even if the truck has 50 -100k on it, it still can last another 150k or even more. Definently look to getting a used truck...

    Coolant loss and leak

    smoke of any kind? leaking any engine oil? With that many miles it could be a cracked head perhaps. Any signs of overheating?
