I'm not exactly sure why anyone would run such a small turbo on this size of engine. We use hx-35s on 3.8 liter engines. I wouldn't go much smaller than hx-40 .
I'm not real sure I want a 6.2 to make serious torquemuch under 2000 rpm . Making to much torque to low will have a tendency to ruin major parts. Besides , will start out with the stock cam so I have a baseline to compare other cams with .
A cam helps a naturally aspirated engine far more than it helps a boosted engine. On a boosted engine a cam almost isn't worth the cost. Doing head work for more airflow is money better spent.
We may do a cam, not sure. It is going to end up with a turbo so we may just save the time an money an put it towards the turbo setup. Once you have a turbo the cam isn't nearly as important for hp.
And my engine still hangs from the engine stand . :nonod: Meanwhile a friend wanted to tune up his 82 Blazer so i made him a set of injectors with marine tips and the 6.5 natural intake manifold. Day and night difference in this thing!! Woke the bastard up.It will now run right along side of a...
When done properly it is better for the transmission. But, you can't just drop in a shift kit an go an expect everything to be ok. Best way is to get a properly built valvebody with modified valves an springs, then things work so much more smoothly an last much longer.
