The 4l60 guts fit in and are a good upgrade for the 700r4. The valvebody does not interchange at all. An yes parts to upgrade and rebuild should run around 700 to 1,000 depending what you need and how far you intend on pushing the transmission.
Cumminsfever was running 8, .75gph nozzles and if i remember correctly a 5gph. The size of nozzle you run is fully dependent on the amount of fuel you are injecting and the rpms you run.
Know of someone 30 minutes from spartansburg. He has a van with stock centermount turbo but slightly modded pump. And has a suburban with a hybrid hx-35/40 . Both vehicles are auto trans with mechanical pumps and he wants to dyno them both .
The 8.3 has many variations of the hx-40 an it predecessor the H1e. The hx-40w or WH1e are the best of the options. All of them will have t-4 mounts though. An 400$ for a genuine holset is about right.
Well, we have a couple yards around here but you know how it is, when you need something they don't have it. Next time you are there they have 5 of em. I usually try to go with a fairly big list of parts i can always use.
This is true, although if you know what to get you can walk through a scrap yard an pick up bigger turbos just as cheap . Most scrap yards have no clue.
