Yeah let me know how that goes because I wasn't really planning on getting an align bore. I am going to have a shop make a 5 pin girdle for me most likely. Contacting ARP sounds like a good idea, is that what you guys did? How much was it per stud?
Thanks! I will have to pull mine sometime and see what I can do with the bulbs. I know what you mean about parts store stuff, its pretty bad. I got so frustrated working on the lights, I had both the new and old switches apart bending contacts to create more pressure and still nothing. I...
very cool! I have had the bezel in mine off so many times its not even funny, but I always wondered about getting the cluster out. I didn't realize it had like a plug in connector like that, I figured if I tried to take it out I would be messing with a forest of wires, nice info :)
How do you...
Ha I see what you mean about the manuals, when my dad and I work on our old tractors we are always referencing the manuals. I might order that manual then next week. It would be kinda nice to find a chevrolet manual though, oh well the info is whats important. Thanks again.
I just came home for...
how much is a good price? It seems to be the only manual I can find, especially since its for a 92, I think I may get it anyways, it will probably be the best $46 I have ever put into the truck ha. Alright I will check that site, thanks again!
EDIT: How about this one bk...
Oh ok thanks! I think I will probably go the stock clutch and 9 blade fan for now unless I find a good deal on a conversion clutch and fan.
What do you guys think about this?

Oh I see, interesting! While #8 was really low at 150 psi, the others were not the best either. I think my highest of all of them was 380, most were 330-360, way over the 10% max variation that's preferred.
I will have to see on the water pump, you make a very good point, I wanted to upgrade...
The t-stat I bought is actually a 195 t-stat. It was just the cheapo from advance, stant it think is the brand name. I figured if it opened at 195, thats what it should be running right? But I hardly ever see it near the 200 mark. Maybe when I start this project I will buy a good ACDelco 195...
thanks buddy! I agree, I will be keeping the single t-stat. I appreciate the info. I thought the 97 and up to 99.5 were a little better, thanks!
bk95td, luckily my engine seems to run surprisingly cool. The PO replaced the radiator at one point, but the t-stat wasn't working so what it was...
Alright thanks! I will have to get a book before the project begins. I see what you mean about not needing the rebuild, that is very possible. Unfortunately, I think my truck was not treated well when it was young, there are many signs that point to a bad past. I kinda wanted to do some bottom...
OK so it seems that the head studs should be added to my list then, thanks bk95td! What about the mains? It seems as if stud kits for the mains are very expensive, the main bolts are reusable right?
great white, thats kinda what I thought about the filler, that's why I was asking about where...
OK guys here goes.
I willing be rebuilding/building up my 92 6.5 this summer (hopefully). I have already begun to assemble some parts for the job. From my testing, it seems as if I have one dead cylinder and it burns some oil so the motor needs a rebuild, and I wanna build it up :)
Here is...
oh ok I see, sounds expensive ha, but I guess you gotta spend money if you want results. I'm just trying to figure out what method of strengthening the bottom end has the most bang for my buck without risking harm to the block and crank. Eventually I would like to do an aftermarket turbo, head...
What needs to be machined after the filler is set up? You said that machining after helps to eliminate stress induced by the curing filler, which I understand, but what type of machining is required? Does it just need shined up or rounded or??
oh ok, so how long does the filler take to completely cure? If it takes a long time that may be out of the question then for me. and you mentioned machining, does the filler surface need to be machined after curing? And as for crank, are you getting an aftermarket scat crank? Sorry for all the...
No need to worry, keep the conversation going!! I like hearing everyone's thoughts! :) BTW, this Hard-blok that I mentioned, what does it cost for a low fill and a tall fill? Economics are going to drive my bottom end building unfortunately so price is important to me ha. Also, turbonator, you...
