    Military DB4

Some very good thoughts/ideas here. Slim Shady, I have read/heard from others that what you are saying about pre cups is exactly right, the smaller cups tended to be more efficient, while sacrificing some power and keeping heat, while the larger cups increased power but efficiency went down. In...

    Military DB4

Well then I think I might just go with something like .33 or .35 inch plungers. I know the "marine" pump has .33 inch. I couldn't see why plungers that size could be damaging unless the marine pumps run a completely different rotor with different injection slots. I understand that you do not...

    Military DB4

Well what do you suggest is a good plunger size? Are the slots in the rotor larger between the .29, .31, and .33 inch pumps? I thought the only difference was the plunger size. What is the right spot then? Also, you mentioned stroke over diameter, how would you increase the stroke? The only...

    Military DB4

Keep us updated. I bought an almost new 4911 pump for cheap and I just sent the rotor out to have .410" plungers made and fitted. Hopefully my cam pin will be ok at this level, but I would like to see any ideas for getting a larger pin or bolt, whatever works.

Which turbo for my DB4 build guys ???

That is an excellent point. Although I will probably not attempt a centre mount on my VGT, even though that would be ideal, I will be looking into a better exhaust system (headers, different crossover pattern). I think you are right on that the factory exhaust manifold set up is just as much of...

    1992 Solid Axle Swap

Ha well for some reason I have a pretty bad ride as it is, and I think my IFS is going downhill due to the fact that the truck was beaten when it was young. That is a great idea with the springs though, I never even thought of that, that would save me probably four or five inches on David's set...

    1992 Solid Axle Swap

Hey all, back again! So the more I measure and look at it, it looks like its going to be really tough to do leaf sprung and only get 3 inches of lift. I can probably shave a few inches of David's set up, but it won't be enough. Could anyone tell me a little bit more about coilovers? I...

The Holset HE351VE VGT on my 6.2

Unless I can get a really good deal on a cummins intercooler, I probably will be leaning towards WMI. A WTA would be awesome though, but they are also expensive. Yeah I think finding a donor will definitely be your best bet, much less parts hunting.

The Holset HE351VE VGT on my 6.2

Ha good luck with the NV4500 swap :) That sounds like a real bear of a project. Are you going to be using an intercooler from a cummins?

Opinions on trip with rebuilt engine

Oops, sorry guys I didn't realize I had double posted. aces I think it was sound advice too :D I don't think there is anything I can't learn from you guys :) Anyways, I filled up today just to check my mileage and I was shocked.... 20 mpg!!!! I have NEVER gotten that, not even close. Closest...

Opinions on trip with rebuilt engine

Haha I am tired thats for sure :) Its alot to fit in one day. Unfortunately it rained at the park almost the whole day, so we got six rides in eight hours, not the best, but we still had fun. Anyways the truck ran like a champ, I got it buttoned up yesterday and cleaned the inside quick...

Opinions on trip with rebuilt engine

Haha no worries Big T, nothing wrong with some joking around :) I think its refreshing to have some fun on here every once in awhile, I feel as if 6.5 forums get depressing real fast and not enough people are enjoying the company we have here :D Thanks again fellas.

Opinions on trip with rebuilt engine

Haha, you guys are hilarious :) I will definitely have to watch for leaks as I can't afford any big expenses say nine months down the road :hihi: then I will have to baby it along... Am I still talking about my truck?? :skep: Anyways, I am definitely going to try to get a few miles on it...

Opinions on trip with rebuilt engine

Hey guys, I finally got my engine running, and the truck mobile (a VERY long, frustrating story, but for another thread, maybe when I get pictures up). I used the original pistons in their original bores with new rings and what I think is a pretty good crosshatch hone in the cylinders. The...

    Heath P-Series Chip

Hey thanks for the info!! I will be looking into this chip for sure, especially since the mileage didn't change much. The truck gets 10 mpg anyway :) so its not a huge concern. Good call on ordering over the phone, that sounds much better. Thanks again and good luck!

    Heath P-Series Chip

Hows it running? Notice any mileage difference? My dad has a 95 C3500HD dump truck and it can use all the help it can get, but it still needs to be just as drivable. I noticed on the website that it is programmed for automatics, can this chip be used on a 5-speed?

    92 buildup and questions

OK guys, some good news and bad news... Good news, the motor is out (harder job than I imagined) and now on the stand and ready to be torn apart. Also, my main studs came in yesterday. Bad news, I pulled the bellhousing yesterday to find I have a crappy DMF :mad2: Here is my...

    92 buildup and questions

Alright thanks! I will keep that in mind! If time permits I will get it decked for sure. As for the IP, I am hoping to get some oversize plungers made as well as having the rotor "bored" out and having the plungers lapped and installed. That project itself is still to be determined. The pump...

    92 buildup and questions

Haha sounds like it will be sick! Are you putting the VGT on that motor too? I think I will be keeping mine at stock compression for now, as I don't plan to boost much over 20 psi. I just talked to a ARP dealer today and he is going to get the final cost for me on Monday on everything. I am...
