    Performance Tuning for the Tahoe

I thought the arm advanced the timing as throttle went up? to compensate for injection lag. Unless I am misunderstanding what you are saying and that you mean it takes away 5 degrees at idle in comparison to full throttle. And when you adjust the screw on the bottom, will the advance piston...

The forced air induction\more fuel thread...

If the plug is the same, with the same two wires, does the PCM read the IAT signal just like a gauge would?

    Performance Tuning for the Tahoe

Why would the advance arm be in the retard position at 3000 rpms? Did you set it up that way? At least from what I can tell, the advance arm starts moving almost immediately after idle.

    1992 Solid Axle Swap

Ha no I understand what you are explaining, I found it is so that all the wheels are the same on a dually but run the same axle assembly. Thanks for your help! Anyways I talked to the guy with this axle, he won't do less than $550, and it needs brakes, as well as converted over to SRW. If I was...

    1992 Solid Axle Swap

Hmm ok thanks 6.2, you are always willing to help me out :) That's what I read about the ford axles, I didn't know if the chevy axles were the same, were the adapters just to space the wheels out?

The forced air induction\more fuel thread...

So I have been doing some research and from what I have found (mostly internet forum stuff) a tranny temp gauge or a water temp gauge (electrical) will work??? Also, would it be possible to just buy a GM IAT sensor for the 6.5, and then use some type of electrical temp gauge? I have seen though...

    1992 Solid Axle Swap

Hello all again, this project is still on the burners, and I am kind of on the hunt for an axle, most likely a D44 out of 3/4 ton chevy at a junkyard. However, I found a D60 with low miles from a DRW truck. Will a front axle from a DRW truck fit my truck? What are the differences? Thanks again...

The forced air induction\more fuel thread...

OK Tim I would surely appreciate a picture. I was looking at that Omega site and I saw where I could build my own J-type thermocouple, but was having trouble figuring out what that would plug into. The meters and displays are very pricey on that site. And turbonator I will check that out, I...

The forced air induction\more fuel thread...

I have heard alot about those blankets, I wonder if I could find a reasonable one for the VGT, I know they have cheapy ones on the big site, I wonder if anyone has tried one. Tim, what does that sensor plug into? What is a DMM? Remember I have no sensors at all from the factory and I am running...

The forced air induction\more fuel thread...

The turbo outlet is kinda like 2.75", but 3" coupler works fine with a small spacer, and the intake inlet is 3" (its a Peninsular upper). I might just go with 3", still kinda on the fence on that. Also, where do you suggest getting cheap exhaust pipe? I was going to use polished aluminum pipe...

    6.5L video

Ha yeah, things do add up, and the picture turned out good. Unfortunately I think my truck had a terrible life when it was young. Someone treated her pretty badly. Oh well, more of a challenge for me, its nice at least be able to look at your truck and be able to say that you know it inside and...

    6.5L video

Well you certainly have started out with the one of the best engines, so I would imagine you can push that Optimizer pretty far, I am anxious to see how it goes, especially with the ATT. I am pretty much in the same boat, I would like to see what I can do for as little money as possible but...

    6.5L video

Well I have them in my garage (I think) I don't have a whole lot really. I just rebuilt the motor, and put in ARP main and head studs, and 2" of Hardblok in the block. I also have a homemade air intake, a custom intake, a HE351VE turbo, FTB on the DB2, which is cranked up all the way, hopefully...

    Performance Tuning for the Tahoe

Like you said before, gearing probably has a lot to do with it, lower gear ratio and the 4l80e could be making a good size difference.

The forced air induction\more fuel thread...

I too have heard about using the 3208 pump, in fact I looked into it a while back, I would love to see someone do it. I am assuming since Bill does not run the P-pump anymore (or does he?) that he found it was not worth it? I also noticed many John Deere tractors use a Stanadyne (or...

    Performance Tuning for the Tahoe

Does it smoke alot? Is that 25 psi at full throttle? I think possibly to exceed 4000 rpm well, a much better exhaust is needed than what GM provided us with. I would be interested to see what the drive pressures are.

Ha well they seemed like nice shifts to me :) I know what you mean about the highway, everytime I wanna do something similar there is always someone coming.

    6.5L video

Looks pretty good to me especially for your mods, and nice shifting too, I can never shift that fast or smooth, I like how you started rolling in 2nd, its hard to make it seem fast in a standard when you have to start from a stop :) All these videos lately make me wanna record mine, but not...

    Performance Tuning for the Tahoe

Ha good thinking, I would hate to not have a tach. What screw are you referring to? The one on the advance arm at the bottom that pushes against the advance piston?
