    FTB

I took the back cone off the IP and had a buddy of mine who is good with machining drill it out and tap it to 1/4 pipe thread. I have a brass fitting that I thread in with a barbed end so I can run 3/8 hose. My pump does leak some, although I don't think its from this modification.

A long overdue update on my SAS and other things

The tcase is already there I just haven't hooked up the front driveshaft yet. Its a np241 out of a 92 suburban, so it has the p-drop, but it has the hookup for an electronic speedometer. You are correct though the pass. drop case drops a good bit lower than a drivers drop for an IFS set up. I...

Hmm, very interesting! I had never heard of kits like that before.

A long overdue update on my SAS and other things

For some reason the 350 in this thing is sucking gas like crazy, I am not sure what the problem is. Do you fumigate it in or what? How often do you fill up?

A long overdue update on my SAS and other things

Funny you mention that Leroy I was considering the same thing when I first bought it ha. I was thinking about a big block caddy since they are so cheap or even a late model 454. I joined the 67-72 forum and they pretty much said the same thing you did ha. The 4x4s never had a big block and...

A long overdue update on my SAS and other things

Hey all I thought I would finally up date my pictures with my SAS which has been 90% done for eight months now. Truck now sits about 4" higher in the front and 5" higher in the back. Its a Dana 60 from an 87 Chevy, NP241 p-drop case (not hooked up yet), sitting on factory 1 ton front springs...

    Keep an eye open

Congrats 6.5L! Like most issues, I simply breezed through the pages of my issue of DPM, once again disappointed in the articles like I always am wondering why I still pay for a subscription to this crappy magazine..... And like always after finding nothing of interest to me I flip to the...

Where to get a NV4500 rebuilt?

Hey all! I have not been active here or over at the other place for quite some time. Anyways a few months ago I *tried* to rebuild my NV4500 as some of you know. Well I got it put back in the truck and I was not happy with the results. It makes more bearing noise than before, and it growls at...

    Clutch opinions/experiences

I will have to get back to you on that one, I did not notice. Although I am about 95% sure its not clutch related.

    Clutch opinions/experiences

ak, you could be right. I feel like I definitely overpaid for the clutch, but I really can't complain because it is 100x better than the one I had before so thats all that matters to me, as long as it lasts. I thought the same about the fluid tanman. What concerns me is that it did not make...

    Clutch opinions/experiences

You think that could be the cause of the chatter? I thought if one of the shafts is too tight or too loose it could cause chatter. Unfortunately, i have no way of doing that accurately, because the spec is like .002 to .006 inch.

Ha it has LUK stamped in both the pressure plate and the center section of the disk. If it wasn't wouldn't have had any idea.

    Clutch opinions/experiences

Ok everyone quick update for you: I have good news and bad news. The clutch arrived and low and behold, a Centerforce Dual Friction clutch is merely a LUK clutch with the weights added to the pressure plate and one side of the stock organic LUK disc taken off and Centerforce's ceramic material...

    Center mount turbo

Ha I think we have derailed this thread, sorry!! I can't say because I have never driven a 454 powered vehicle (although I think a BBC may be my next truck), IMO the 8.1L is strong. I think it is underrated. It has more power than my dads 04 lb7, stock for stock. Granted the 8.1 has 4.10s and...

    Center mount turbo

6.5L you are right about where I am, I do 15-16 in town. Winter it goes down to 14. My dad just got an LB7 a few months ago and it got 18-20 mixed, now its getting 15-18 loaded with tools around town, still pretty good. Red you are right, my dads previous work truck was a CCLB 2500HD with the...

    Center mount turbo

Best I have gotten on the highway is 20, that was with a fuel leak and right after I rebuilt it so I was on and off the throttle the whole time to help break it in. I also have 4.10s and that was with the he351ve. I don't drive 70 though ha. I drive 60 on the highway. I also have 265s. Last...

    Center mount turbo

I didn't even think about the shoe hitting the ring thats a good point. Do you think a CNC machine could machine one of these rings? I know you had mentioned before you thought it might increase fuel mileage, is that the case? Assuming you keep your foot out of it lol.
