Mine didn't drone, but it sure klunked when the engine changed speed, especially when it stopped.
It's easy to check - Pull the belt - grab the crank pulley and see if you can turn it by hand, either way. If it turns while the harmonic balancer stays stationary replace it. It's a sheave mounted...
Ham Radio Contest. RTTY = Teletype (although right at everyone uses computers now instead of Teletype Machines).
CQWW = CQ magazine hosts the contest and WW means World Wide.
The object is to contact as many different countries as possible in a set amount of time.
Can be a LOT of FUN...
That quote is by JiFaire from another Place, at another time. Having been putting wires together professionally for 40 years now, his post bothered me and I told him so. However, his logic is quite sound and is discussed below.
Jim & I have been discussing this offline for a while now and I...
Hi Ian -- How about filling in you signature:ihih: or at least type up the low-down on your 95 so we have some idea of your apples compared to our oranges :smile5: Well -- At least mine is more of an orange, unless yours is stock too
Have FUN - Take care
Can't say about the spring but you sure don't want it wired open, even a little.
Turbo pressurizes the intake with the waste gate fully closed. It only has to open a little bit to dump the boost.
Could it be that there's something keeping the wast gate from being closed all the way?
Did you have the injectors tested before installing them?
What kind of boost pressure are you running?
Higher boost = Lower MPG
Or you could
Fill it - Take the filter off :yikes: - Go like 25 miles and see how much fuel it needs to be full again. That would confirm or shoot down the lack...
GoTo the *other site* and search GREATFALLS.
I realize that that might not make sense, but it will lead you to the schematics for your truck.
I'd just post a link, but not sure if it's allowed here...??? Which also doesn't make sense - at least to me.
You could tie another relay for the buzzer into the OPS that would latch once you have oil pressure. The alarm wouln't go off when starting but would still work till you cut power with the ign switch unlatching the relay... Just a thought.
My bad... My idea of a *new truck* is my '94.
My other is OldRed - '91, 350, 5 speed, C1500 which is still going strong :driving:
Other than a crash :yikes: I doubt that I'll ever replace it. I sure don't need a truck payment and I should be able to keep the old girl running for as long as I...
This is interesting... I've owned a bunch of Chevy and GMC trucks over the years and have never had one that didn't have seperate keys for the doors and ignition.
If you can get them keyed the same I sure would like to hear how you did it and what it cost.
It's been rumored that UFOs can cause this kind of problem. You haven't noticed any saucer shaped vehicles parked nearby have you? Saucer shaped vehicles are usually a dead give away!
Actually, a PMD should cost about $200 - The Heath is $550 - Thus the extra $350.
You're on the right track... See if your bro can drop by and try yours on his or his on yours. That will at least let you know if the PMD is actually the problem.
Good luck!
First of all : I have nothing against Heath Diesel. Infact, in my dealing with them I am a very satisfied customer.
Then again : KeepHerRolling might need a new FSD, OK - Most likely needs a new FSD.
Now, you may not believe this but some of us don't have and extra $350 laying around.
For...
Mine too -- New crank pulley fixed it. Took longer to get the belt off and back on than it did to change the pulley. Check 'em all while you have the belt off.
Oh yeah - Been reading that AutoZone's don't last long at all - Get a Dorman.
