A/C Compressor does not kick in

Here is a diagram that shows a slightly different layout

    VSSB calibration

Don't know where this should go but since it comes down to electrical I put it here as a start. Mods feel free to put it wherever you think it would help the most. This info is from several sites plus notes I made when I did it for my sig truck. Different tire sizes make the Speedo wrong...

A/C Compressor does not kick in

Did they get 12 volts TO the Low pressure switch???? Jumper direct to the compressor clutch with truck off, if it clicks in then it is top side supply, if not it is bottom side ground.

I found alot of info on the G80, it is posted under driveline.

    G80 Gov locker info

I posted in suspension re "bunny hop", in searching for cause, I think I found it, Eaton kind of calls this "slip stick". Quick recap of what I found, 1989 is a break year, before that they use Mineral oil with a LS additive, from then on they used synthetic. It is NOT reccommended to use...

    Bunny hop in 4WD??

I checked the RPO and it's a G80 so it is a governor actuated locker. Am thinking it is cycling between lock and unlock. Prolly do better with a load. Gonna do some more digging, not sure why they also call it a limited slip unless it also has clutches.

    Bunny hop in 4WD??

Nope. I actually checked the front and rear ratio's--same. 4WD is locking and unlocking properly. Only tries to hop when on the virge of breaking the tires loose. My wife's '03 Dakota hemi just digs in and goes--no posi in it. Am wondering how this LS locker actually works-might be cycling...

    Bunny hop in 4WD??

Went out yesterday on the back roads and did some "let's see how this does" kinda playing around with my sig truck. Tires are stock size, semi-agressive M/S tread and near new. Has alot of axle hop in 2WD when it breaks loose under torque. Has the LS / lock up rear end and I am not sure how...

    Aux fan temp switches

three cowboys in a truck, which one is smartest?? guy in the middle, doesn't have to drive or get the gate.

    Aux fan temp switches

Orrum, couple of good points but not always true, fans and cowboys. It's not the rpm of the fan it's the cfm thru the fan size. For cowboys, here's a test: If you wanna ride a proud horse when do you cut em??? answer: never Nother Q, when are guys in western shirts, jeans and boots...

    Aux fan temp switches

Hey Ferm, I might agree with you, BUT, the wiring harness appears factory. Has the split harness covers taped up at the ends and wire colors match up. Relays are factory type mountd in line with the rest along the top firewall. I doubt any 'john doe' would do the job that well.

    Aux fan temp switches

I found a wiring diagram for the Aux cooling fan--doesn't show temp switch location but does have harness connections.

Doing those things that correct inherent issues or improve the basic systems is where I am starting. A number of things are listed on this site that are already in process. Have only had the truck for a little over a month. Started with new sensors, the GP's and injectors, the GP controller...

Thanks, Buddy, That's really good info, will be looking for the 2000 water pump straight away. My fan clutch is still working but not 'biting in' like it should so a good time to replace it. Think I will dig down to the balancer while I got it open, prolly replace it just for ducks. Anybody...

Hi war, My 'thing' here is simple, making it as reliable as is possible with what's in it. My truck is rated for 9,000 GVW and 10k towing, that's about as heavy duty as a 2500 gets. I wouldn't even think to load heavier than that, especially with the 6.5. The 6.5 is simply not built for...

To clarify something that would prolly be asked--stock injectors rebuilt with Bosch innards, was told he set them for 1800psi, max flow 5L and "narrow idle pattern". Don't know specifics and he just smiles when asked.

The numbers are what the system can handle, not what I will be running. Gmx is only good for 45 lb/min at a 2.25 PR, or about 290 HP at 3400Rpm. That's it's absolute max without going over the turbo RPM limit. Truck has 245K on it and I won't be doing any performance mods until after I need to...
