Holy SCHHMMMOOKE....... That's beyond ridiculous..... Well, I guess go with the sea freight option and try to keep her alive for another few months !! It would ruin your bank account very quickly too....

Towing long and heavy with a 6.5? Read on

Yep, I advise to get them checked no matter where or who you got them from. Everyone makes mistakes, bad parts slip through quality control, some folks just sell straight junk to make money at the expense of someone else's trust..... Even if I got a brand new set from Heath today..... I...

    6.5 engine

matuva this isn't going to be an option for you or your friend due to your location..... But, for everyone in CONUS...... Take a look at govliquidation.com They have engines up for auction all the time.... 90% of them start at $150 and never recieve any bids. A lot of them are "take-out"...

Towing long and heavy with a 6.5? Read on

Agreed..... Let's get back on track here. The main point here is that Injectors are critical and will destroy your 6.5 without you even realizing what is going on until it's over..... You're best off to stick with high quality injectors right from the start, like genuine German...

Kenny, To my understanding....which I admit is sometimes skewed or inaccurate..... No one, including me, is calling you an a-hole or "ball buster" for sharing your opinions, sharing your advice/knowledge/experience/observations, or for disagreeing with another members...

Opinions on trip with rebuilt engine

This could be interpreted in several different ways..... :D Are you still talking about the truck engine and breaking it in after the rebuild, or are you giving advice on how to have a more fun/exciting vacation ?!?!? :rolleyes5: I would like to add to Big T's advice if I may..... Keep an eye...

    6.5 engine

I would recommend getting one from Ted's as well. Optimiser engine and in pretty much brand new condition, judging from the description and pics of members who have bought one. In my opinion, that's the no-brainer way to go unless you repower with a surplus 6.2. For about $1,600, not...

Opinions on trip with rebuilt engine

During the first 500 miles or so, the loading on the rings should be moderate and varying. This can be accomplished by varying speeds (no long-distance constant speeds (like cruise control down the interstate), especially full-throttle) and occasionally increasing the cylinder pressures by quick...

    Valve cover Bolts?

Mine also has studs in the top two middle holes on the passanger side. They have a bracket on them that leans over next to the lower intake and holds the heater hose going to the coolant crossover.

    1995 Tahoe ignition switch issues

Agreed......For clarity's sake.... When I said "ignition switch" I was referring to the ignition lock cylinder, the thing your key goes into on the steering column. I said ignition switch because your average shade tree mechanic may not know WTF an ignition lock cylinder is.

I can see how my "ball busting" comment "looked like" it was aimed at you..... It was not aimed at you and only you. You are one of the "ball busters" in my opinion, but not the only one. Go back and read GW's "east bound and down" thread starting at the point his engine blew up...page 3 I...

Towing long and heavy with a 6.5? Read on

I have a feeling this "rant" may have been aimed at me.... Not sure, but just in case it was, here is my thought. Take your own advice.... if you post something, you are going to get others input and opinions on what you posted. As far as I know it is an open forum... Wouldn't be much of a...
