ARP does make them.... I don't see them in the catalog.... But I talked to one of their tech dept guys on the phone a few days ago and he quoted me a price for 6.5 rod bolts. I don't recall what the part number was. Give them a call and see what you come up with.

I cleaned the web areas with brake clean lookng for signs of cracks. The bearings looked better than I expected them to as well.
The only thing odd to me was the spots on the top piston ring in the picture. It isn't carbon, it's pits in the ring or small flakes of material missing. Not sure...
UPDATE: Got the old engine out and mounted to the stand Saturday night. Sunday I tore the oil pan off, and since WarWagon asked, here are some pics of the internals of the old engine......252,000 miles on it.
Where is the best place to get the gapless rings?
The new engine is STD bore.... it measures 4.055"
I don't know yet, it's still in the truck. It will probably come out sometime this coming weekend.
I kinda doubt it was a training aid.... I have seen those too.
This one had gaskets everywhere it was suppose to and none of the bolt heads were "worn" like they had been loosened and tightened many times.
I am an Army maintenance tech..... that's the way our training aids are.
I am...
The original 1994 engine (599 block) has cracked prechambers (1/4"+ long) and cracks between the valves on each cylinder. Heads are $325ish each, and if I am going to put new heads on it, I might as well rebuild it.....but now we are getting into some cash.
So, I was looking around on...
I've kinda been waiting on it to happen for the last couple months and it finally did last week. 252,000 miles on the clock, a hot heath chip, 15ish psi max boost, qutie a bit of towing, etc. I remember gettting on it pretty good Wednesday night and it ran geat. Thursday morning I went to...
Pretty neat site, a lot of info.
I found what may be a mistake or bug right off the bat. I looked up my 1994 K2500 suburban, but the site says a 7.4L was the only available engine for 1994. I checked the same truck in 1995 and it shows a 6.5L as well.
I'll try that in the morning when it's cold again.
Tried that.... I have an aftermarket LP wired to a switch, I can turn it on anytime. I have turned that LP on up to 30 sec before letting the glow's cycle, it had no effect on the way it started.
I am leaning toward injectors now that I...
Fooling around with my camera this morning.....
I made a video of my truck, nothing special.
What do you think?

They were new.
I have another new spare set of Bosch's sitting here....... The question now is should I have them checked first or just replace the 8 that are in the truck right now with the 8 new spares I have without any pop testing of either set.
The closest injectjion place (that would...
Spent yesterday reworking the glow plugs and wiring. I replaced all 8 glows with another brand new set of AC 60G's and replaced the glow wiring to both banks with 10 ga wire all the way to the glow plugs. The old wiring was starting to look frayed and the connectors were definately showing their...
