The black wire is the sensor ground, the gray wire is the 5 volt reference, and the blue wire is the TP signal that tells the TCM the throttle angle. Voltage on the blue wire should be low (.5v) with throttle closed and high (4.5v) at WOT.
I think GM made a change in the idlers when they changed the accessory layout. My 96 has the idler with the square hole in it and my 95 doesn't. On the 95 you have to put a wrench or the proper tool on the bolt that holds the pulley on the tensioner to remove tension.
There are 2 lines that go into the rad on top passenger side. The one that points to headlight goes to overflow tank, the one that points toward engine is heater return.
Pulled the fuel filter out of my 96 today and it was covered in what appeared to be light grease. I have been buying some B5 lately, don't know if it was the cause or not. First time I have seen this junk on the filter in 14 years with the truck.
Is the FSO solenoid on the IP engaging when the ignition is turned on. It is the vertical cylinder on the front of the IP. I take it you have loosened a couple of injector lines to check for fuel at the injectors.
