The guys i know that are running most of the brands listed are having good service. Most of the applications are high draw CB or audio setups. I will add that these are high-output applications, although i am sure they sell stock output alts. I didn't post links because of possible conflicts...
You could try Mean Green Alternators, Motor City Reman, Alterstart, db electrical, or Powermaster (to name a few). Most of these are choices for the CB and car audio guys, although I am sure there are others out there.
To heck with that old new holland. Why not shoehorn this in there, if you want to go into uncharted territory? :)

A mechanical Dmax would be sweet drop-in for one of my trucks. Anybody want to build one?:) I see it didn't take long to turn that pretty chrome stack gold.
Do you notice any smoke when this happens? The reason I ask, is because I am having a similar issue. I put a hair dryer on the IP and one on the FFM for about an hour Friday and it did not do it, so I am going to experiment some more today.
