Took 2mm out of the "cavity", and ramped the injection event. My heavily modded one was almost too steep(could feel it external on the pump as it injected!), but it never knocked the cam-pin off, and the shoes didn't hit the ramp.
6.2 heads have same exhaust outlet angle as 6.5, however, they do have bigger exhaust valves. May help spool? Don't know.
As far as camring, I probly lost 75hp going from highly modded to near stock. I lost 10mph in the 1/4 mile. Also lost alot of my topend power. It pulled HARD up to...
If going center mount, DEFINITELY use t4. If I had it to do over, I'd use a super40, s300, or similar size to the 40. The 55 is great, but it is huge wheels to get/keep turning.
The current pump has as close to stock camring as I could allow myself to run. No pump ever gets a completely stock one!
Just do us a favor: make your's look nicer. Mine looks kinda scabby. Next one should have a bit more "professional" look!
Finally back on the road after realising my old injector pump head was junk. New head/rotor, new charge pump. Thanks to 6.2turbo for the hours on the fone, trying to get the bastard to run correctly. Everyone needs a friend like him close by!
Anyway, 1k miles as of today on the "new"...
Van manifolds. Gated (externally) to 28psi. Cruising boost is around 3 to 3.5psi @ 2000rpm. By 1500rpm I can put it to the floor and lite it. By 2000rpm I can hit 20psi. 2500 hits 28psi and holds that up to 4500rpm.
Yes, 4inch downpipe... and 4inch the whole way back.
I need to get egt gauges...
My gm8 didn't spool under 1500. If I recall correctly, it wasn't till closer to 1700 that it really came alive.
This was a 2829 pump with fuel screw in against.

I don't... YET! I hope to tune it a bit more, and get a track time. Of course, video of the runs will be had! Got about 150 miles on it so far. Just glad to have a vehicle to run!
The turbo spools great. Seems the 6.5 has the extra cubes to do that with a bit less fuel. As i sit, it is rite there with the 08 duramax in the 1/4 mile. Before, I could easily put 10mph on that...
Back up and running. Got a 506 block from a van. Had to do a few unplanned IP mods. I lost alot of my power, but... It runs. So far, so good. Glad to finally have a vehicle!
I was flat out, merging with highway traffic. Starting about 25mph, took it up to around 80. When i got back on it to pass another vehicle, it seemed to struggle. I was only a mile or 2 from home, so I eased on in. Went to leave for the weekend, and only made it about 30 miles before it got tite.
Hey now... we aren't "trying" to blow these things up!
Not sure what I'd do to abuse it anymore than I had been. I drove HARD when it ran. Every day it gets "cleaned out"!!
On a side note- just fired the new engine. Sounds good. Now, to get it the rest of the way together...
Took the old 6.2 block apart. Spun the main bearings. I'd venture to say the crank is unusable, it's that bad. I drove it probly 30 mile or so like that!
To my little buddy 6.2turbo: all the rods are strait and clean. None bent, none cracked. Does that indicate I aint got enuff fuel? !!! Lol!
