Not sure why most of us only report when something bad happens. So... here's a good report.
2500 miles so far, and absolutely NO issues with the engine and turbo. Got the wastegate tuned to 28/29 psi total boost at WOT.
I absolutely HATE key chime modules. The most annoying sound there is... especially when you are trying to work on the truck, and need to have the door open, and the key on.
When I bought my truck, it was already MIA, and I was happy to let it be that way. But... now I have no chime to let me...
A gallon of kerosene dumped into the oil rite before you change it, hold it around 1200 - 1500 rpm for about 10 minit, then drain your oil like normal. Make sure ALL the old oil is out when you change it.
repeat as often as necessary to clean it.
I thought about it. At this point I'm running it everyday, 100 miles a day. No time for dyno.
There is a local dragstrip me an 6.2turbo may go hit some Saturday nite. It would be fun to line up beside him, even tho I know I'll only be seeing his tail lights!
It is a complicated process to make the cruise work. It involves finding the correct wires, snipping them, and connecting them to the regular cruise module for the gas vehicle.
Then... you gotta somehow make it move your pedal assembly so your transmission still works.
That was more involved...
For myself, we had a set of lines, so I used em. But, there are adapters available so you can use your ds4 lines.
When I get near my computer, I will post a link of where to get those adapters.
The engine side of the computer is a mad as a cat in a bathtub. It has codes for just about everything imaginable!
but the transmission side is happy! No trans codes to date... and I put over 18,000 miles on so far.
You will notice in your firewall is an indentation for the factory throttle...
I kept the stock computer. Just welded an arm to the throttle pedal so it had a tps signal, and it was good to go!
I have a thread here. "Center mount turbo". Go in there, and go to my photobucket account. I will add another pic of my pedal so you can see how I did it for adjustment. You will...
At the shop we have seen ALOT of corrosion issues with dexcool. 99.9% of the time due to lack of maintenance, or the adding of water that wasn't distilled.
dexcool, and similar coolants, have better/faster heat transfer capability than "green stuff".
I personally use CAT coolant. Never an...
The front terminal is your shutoff solenoid. Apply + to run. Ground is thru the pump case.
the back terminal is your cold advance.
Your injectors will be fine.
Well... I am EXTREMELY disappointed. I didn't git to do any track time today.
Hoping for some track time somewhere in the near future.
Hoping to line up beside the infamous tahoe :)
