This seems a little sketchy to me

Kind of update ... I havn't changed anything yet. Friday I was digging around and noticed the ground wire from the harness was going to a bolt that looked crusty I pulled it out cleaned it up then added an extra ground wire from there back to battery. It has started every time I have tired it...

This seems a little sketchy to me

For the last year or so I have been having problems with my 6.5 dying right after starting like you turned the key off or it wouldn't start. I haven't suspected the PMD as it has been moved to the skid plate. This was already done when I bought the truck back in '06. I have been suspecting a bad...

    Help me diagnose this one

I am about 25-30 miles Northwest of Dayton around Greenville. We had to fight the rain bad here too. Hay got rained on twice after it was down, Wind blew alot and dried it out and we got lucky. We finally baled yesterday at around 10% moisture. Ended up with about 300 bales on just under 5...

    Help me diagnose this one

Alright guys here's the story. Took out the old CPS. It came out fairly easy. Upon inspection there was about a 1 inch crack along the side. Popped new CPS in, then once I found the bolt that I dropped and put that back in I got in and started it. Started nice and easy rattle a bit for...

    NP-241 Interchange

Pretty sure the difference 88-94 and 95-up is the width of the input shaft bearing. The older is wider than the newer. I ordered a rebuild kit for my 241c from auto zone everything in the kit was right until I got to the input shaft bearing which was almost double the proper width. I think I...

    NP241 Mystery

Here is what happened to my NP241, I am pretty sure we can blame it on NO oil in the case. When I went to drain it only a few drops came out. Guess I shouldda checked it.

NV 4500 Help Me Update... Clutch Fubar

Just like Packratt suggested, clutch is gonzo... I think with the lack of lube on the pilot bushing caused it to wear bad. This allowed the input shaft to drop a little and bind up the clutch disc which is now destroyed. I knew something was way bad when I saw the clutch off center with...

    how much can I tow?

I pulled 11k with my 6.5 at 65 mph some hills around Clevland in 5th with no problem. That doesn't help you with the 700r4 question but it gives a good testimonial to the 6.5.

    NP241 Mystery

Heading down the Highway 4 hr away from home at 70mph on CC my truck suddenly began slowing down and the motor started screaming. I knew I was in big trouble. When I finally got it home I tore down the NP241 to find the hi-lo range shift fork broke off. Not really any help but it sounded a...

new here, with a 6.5L Camaro

What about someone like edelbrock making after market direct injected heads that decrease CR to 18:1 leaving the bottom of the motor alone? I guess then the IP issue would need to be addressed as well. Heads would probably cost so much it wouldn't be worthwhile though. Dave

    Nv 4500 help me

Can't get the clutch to slip at all. In 4x4 low 1st the brakes won't hold the truck, anything higher kills the motor. Up until last weekend I was able to drive the truck OK, once I got to a stop I had to make sure it was already in gear and once stopped you could feel something break loose...
