    The "restification" of a 98 6.5 TD...

Still seems like a big price jump 20%. Must be something going on with the production or labor costs of that plant in OH, could be they are paying more for steel but a new optimizer would be great if there are just going to the p400 casting that's even better.

    How much Blowby is acceptable?

Checking Blowby On a warm running engine, pull off the oil fill cap. If no smoke or a very light haze comes out this is normal. If it seems there is excessive smoke coming out, the piston rings or other parts may be very worn.

Midwest/ Great Lakes - Where are you from?

Yes I miss the fishing because there is so many good places. I used to go to a lake sometimes and be the only person there. Mainly fished for Pickerel(Walleye) but I fished Steelhead, Lake Trout, Bass, and Northern Pike too.

    a little bonus

What I did was the centre the console between the visors there is a natural hump down the head-liner it fits there really nice. Then I just pressed the console against the head-liner it left indents where the clips go. Then I just cut small hole to explore a bit. Use a sharp knife new blade will...

    a little bonus

Pics of the install it's pretty straightforward I used a carpet knife to cut the headliner where the clips are. In the EC the holes for the console line up perfectly. Another cut up front and a clip to secure it. I used an anchor bolt as there is a hole to put it in. I wired the power from the...

    a little bonus

Yeah it's funny I have a full size garage and a 12 x 20 workshop and I'm working outside in my driveway and complaining about the rain. The reason I can't get into the garage at the moment is I'm doing some renos in the house so the garage is a laydown area and storage. Anyway I finished a...

    a little bonus

I was under the hood of my 6.5 and found a bonus the PO added a racor r45s oil prefilter setup before the FFM. I guess he must have cared for this vehicle. Who knows what else I will find. I'm currently adding tow mirrors like 88gmctruck put on his truck. The mirrors look better than stock...

Midwest/ Great Lakes - Where are you from?

Wow five pages of members and apparently I'm the only one who grew up on the Northern side of the Great Lakes in Thunder Bay. I was there most of my life then I joined the Navy and moved to the West Coast.

    The "restification" of a 98 6.5 TD...

You are right about home-port but I work on subs so I get to spend a fair amount of time on both coasts. I tried the east coast but it didn't really impress me. I have sailed out there quite a bit. I was in St John's last March I figured they called it the ROCK for a reason well seeing the view...

    The "restification" of a 98 6.5 TD...

All the way to NFLD I did the trip from Halifax to Victoria with a tent trailer back in 05. It's a nice summer trip we went around Lake Superior some people use the HWY 11 but I grew up in Thunder Bay so it was kind of nice to drive through it again. Are you just going back for vacation? that's...

    The "restification" of a 98 6.5 TD...

My wife is pretty good with guiding me in;) but when I don't have the tool box in the back I can see my hitch just fine however I have a 5er so the hitch is right over the axle makes it a little easier. rad cleaning

I have to take back my previous statement about glowshift there gauge was not the problem but when I put the 4" exhaust on I guess I must have not been careful enough putting the inner wheel fender back on looks like I snapped it in two. Not the result I was hoping for. I have the boost bolt...

    rad cleaning

Well first impression is the truck runs about 10 degrees cooler than before and when I step on it the needle climbs but holds at about 95 I think I will modify this truck in stages just to see how it reacts. This is where the gauges come in, so tomorrow I want to put the sensors in now that I...
