    Anyone use Land Pride equipment...

I have 2 22 ft. rotary mowers and they have held up up well. I have used a Land Pride grass seeder and it worked well also.

    Farming Thread:

We have 1 Lockwood that is 28 years old, but it has Valley tower boxes and panel to get rid of the old guide wire system. We run 11 Valley pivots and have had good luck with them. What problems do the T-L's have? The big advantage I see is the constant drive so you don't get ruts from the...

    Farmers, help me!

I don't know much about growing corn in my garden. I grow my sweet corn in my pivots and I treat it just like my field corn. My first impression is you are watering too much. You want to stress it when it is young so it develops a good root system. Then pour the water to it in the heat so it...

    Farming Thread:

We have to water pretty much nonstop from April 1 to October 31 most years. We will get some rain that will let us shut down for a few days here and there, but when the average rainfall is less than 14" you must make it rain. Most our wells have the pump set at ~ 300'. I have never run out...

Nemesis you get the star student for that math. :sifone: Most the pivots I run are 1/4 mile machines that will cover ~140 acres.

    Lets See Them

I agree that the most important part of what color tractor (or pickup for that matter) you drive is the dealer. I have mostly blue equipment because the dealer is easy to work with and has alot of equipment on the lot. The red dealer in my area has a better service department, but not alot of...

    Farming Thread:

The 2 pivots we put in this year were ~$77,000 just for the pivot. All the other stuff just added alot of money. The one pivot had over 3/4 mile of 10 inch pvc mainline and that cost a pretty penny.

Small world. My uncle and his wife lived there for a long time along with her kids. Randy and Betty Marble. Her kids are Brent and Brad Wilson. Ring a bell?

    Farming Thread:

Yes the dealer is EVERYTHING. My 35 year old one fell down on a Monday and we had a new pivot to water with on Saturday. That includes shipping it from Nebraska and building it. The guy that builds our pivots can build a whole pivot in one day if things go well. It's amazing to see to say...

We had a Valley pivot that ran for 35 years before it fell down. We are going to repipe 4 towers and put it back up between two other pivots.

I can't wait to bale with it. I found this one with a Hesston 4590 baler for less the $40 k. Both units had less than 4000 bales through them.

How many towers is in a 1800' pivot. Ours are like 1300'. We run all Valleys. I have looked at the t-l's and I like the constant drive, but my Valley dealer is the best so I have a hard time trying anything else.

    Lets See Them

Reminds me of an old joke. Why do engineers make it so hard on mechanics? Because a mechanic knocked up an engineers wife and they've been pissed ever since.

I have 7 more acres of sod to plant and about 45 acres of corn ground to finish up. I wish I had a little of everyones rain. We have only had about 1" of rain since the snow left the ground and it has just been a cold windy spring. We started it in farm thread on DP, but anyone get new...

    Check your balls!

One time when I was a kid we were on vacation in Montana. We stopped at a family reunion and my uncle for some reason noticed the pin was missing from the receiver. That sucker had slid out about 1 1/2" if I remember it correctly. I had been driving and it scared me to death to think what...
