i've got an HMF pipe on my 400ex (slipon) and it sounds great.
sparky, when you rejetted your z400, did you drill out the plug to access and adjust the pilot screw? if so what did you use to plug it back up?
cool! yeah, i'm ordering some flush-mount d-shackles as we speak.
so i shouldn't need to reinforce the frame beyond the boxed-steel around the perimeter? or should i not bother?
thanks
i don't know anything about it. the axles are 5 lug, so probably 3500lb?
it has 4-ply radial tires (2,000lb) shitty tires on it, so i don't think the guy loaded it very much or very often.

they say not to use oil that has friction modifiers (polydenum, teflon, ect) in quads/bikes that have wetclutches, but i always have and never a problem. i run my toys hard too. ymmv, but probably not. i've got a couple bikes and no problems.

i would go with an oil temperature gauge if it was my choice. but then again i don't have any plans on making huge HP. monitoring oil could be useful for towing.
i do my own because i don't trust anyone at a dealership with my truck. i trust good diesel shops - but i can't afford them.
oil + filter @7,500
fuel filter @15,000
tranny filter @10,000
tire rotation @10,000
tranny fluid @...... truck has 40K on it and hasn't been changed yet...
i'm on my second tank also and it still seems optimistic with the MPG readings. is yours reading high or low?
