I'm responding primarily to "subscribe" to this thread to see what you figure out. I'm having a similar problem, although I think, from the way you are describing it, my front heat is a tad bit warmer. My rear heat sucks, though.
The engine temps you are seeing are definitely low, though. I...
Oh, just for reference... a 5/16" hose fits snugly over the fuel return line. I can't verify, but it appears that a 3/8" hose would fit over the fuel supply line.
That's a good idea, Crank. I was starting to think the same thing last night as I was underneath looking at everything.
However, I think I'll have to drop the tank. It's a 42 gallon tank and there was just barely enough room for me to stick a locking, needle-nose pliers up between the tank...
One of my local Autozones had the 30R9 stuff for $4/ft. I got that. Thanks for all the help, guys! It's all done.
I got a double flare kit from Harbor Freight. Junk. Didn't hold the line tight enough and then the "HD" wingnut stripped under just finger pressure. So, no flare in the pipe...
If I don't run bio (no place nearby) is it as important to get that bio-rated hose?
The supply line looks "decent" right now - but that is something I'm thinking about. I just bought a new LP (stock) about a year ago and it's currently doing well (plumbing a PSI gauge temporarily = 1.5lbs...
The fuel return line fitting (top most one in picture) is looking pretty nasty and it appears that is where the new "waterproof" spot on my driveway is from. I plan to drive it to work tomorrow and then pickup some rubber (probably not actually "rubber") fuel hose on my way home. I'll cut out...
No problem - it's quite good. As expected, when going back and forth between languages, there are different "terms" used for various things. For example: what you meant by "and a Bow after looks at the Street"... we would usually say: "and a turn down piece". It just took me a few times...
Hello Gunar,
I don't completely understand what you're asking, but that's OK. Let's see if we can figure this out.
I have no experience with the brands you are referring to, but if the pipes are built out of aluminized steel or stainless steel, that's good. The bends should be "mandrel" bent...
Well, for whatever reason, I couldn't get the sun to shine just right to see any "ghost" images of unlit dash lights. My manual only showed one "wait to start" light. It did say "US Dash shown, Canadian slightly different". But, it didn't expand on that.
Just wondering out loud (well, for me it is out loud... for all of you it's pretty quiet)... '96 was a transition year to OBDII, right? Is your '96 OBDI? Wondering if OBDI had it above the tach... Don't know the year of the OP's truck.
GP light (on my '98) is on the left side of the tach. There should be a picture (of your dash layout) in your manual to tell you where it is. I don't know if the light "not lighting" is an indicator of the controller not working, or if it means the dash light is burnt out. But, even in summer...
I just got it about a month ago, but am impressed. I got it mainly for reading/clearing codes while driving. But the extra features it has are nice.
Having IAT is great. That's one (of 4 available on the screen) that I usually have up all the time. But you can change what gauges you see on...
What size tires on there? 245/65?
How was everything performing? Black smoke? If so, how much? Did you just recently purchase the truck... ie: are you sure there isn't a performance chip in there? Although, it would have to be a bad program to cause that type of MPG.
If everything seems...
I'm curious about the effects of ram-air, as well. Now, let me say upfront that I'm only semi-versed in this area and nowhere near as knowledgeable as many on this site. But, how much real effect does anyone think a ram-air will have on a vehicle going 65MPH... especially a turboed vehicle? I...
What about putting your hand over the oil fill tube (cap off, of course) for about 10 seconds? I have always heard that's a good one to check for blowby - noticing if there is any residue on your palm. Are there any cases where this is not a good test?
