If you had to Build a 6.5

I would just rebuild with new internals stock compression ratio and put a ATT on it if i was using it for towing. That is if the block checks out to be ok.

    WIF Light

I would get a plastic bottle and when the light comes on next time use the t-valve to fill the bottle and you will be able to see if there is any water in the fuel.

    6.5 / 6.2 Diesel Spring Fling Interest

This is what i was thinking off doing when i got out of school running a twin turbo setup. Would two GM 8 turbos have alot of lag?

    A-Team turbo on board

I don't even think its hardly worth talking about what going on over at the Place on this website no need to mess this one up with the crap over there. I still try to help people over there and comment on stuff i know about but u get attacked around every corner over there. All i can say is...

    A-Team turbo on board

I didnt think it was a problem if you used PM. But you can go down to the DMAX aftermarket section and see all sorts off parts that are not sold by a vender on the site but they let that stay.

    A-Team turbo on board

I know over there the thread got closed down some crap about someone trying to sell a turbo. All i seen was he was posting up pictures and tech information.

Anyone convert from pushbutton to floor shift 4x4?

Yeah but we are not all using 4 wheel drive for that reason. For me a lot of times i just need it to pull wagons out of pastures or fields then when i got on highway I take it out. But i don't want to put it into 4 wheel drive until i know i need it.

    Cold Air Intake

Yeah it would help us out if your filled out your signature so we can know about your truck. I should have mentioned that the first time. Wrecker I still have the old flat style air intake for now but am looking into finding the other style and if i do i will let u know to get a round filter.

    Cold Air Intake

That is what i was talking about the drop in ones. Really if you get the round style filter box for the 6.5 and put a filter like the Amsoil one in it that will be about as good as you can do.

    K&N filter

All i do is let mine soak in warm water with cleaner on it then rinse it off under sink repeat process then its normally pretty clean. Then i let it dry out good and oil it up.

    Cold Air Intake

Yes the new Amsoil filters are suppose to be the best from what i have read. I was going to get one to put in place of my drop in K&N filter after hearing all the people say its not a good filter but mine seems to work good.

Anyone convert from pushbutton to floor shift 4x4?

My 93 and my dads 99 6.5 both have the floor shifters. His 99 is much better then my 93 his as soon as u pull the it into 4X4 its in. Mine you put it in 4X4 and have to back up a little and pull forward to get it to engage. From what i understand there is a part i can buy and put on it and...

    Oil Analysis

Well i cant really complain about the oil analysis seeing as it was free. Next time i might go elsewhere and pay to have it done thanks for the heads up Wrecker and Golds.

    Bigger oil pan?

Yeah is far as i would know u would have to make the oil pan yourself.
  17. dirtfarmer629

    oil leak

not really i would recommend replacing them but if you really just want to repair u could get some hydraulic hoses to repair the bad place in them

Bill Heath - 149mph yesterday at Bonneville!

X3 they seem to really know the 6.5 and what it can do.

Myth: 3000 mile oil change. BUSTED.

This is my oil analysis that i got done. It shows how quality amsoil really is. This was my first time running it i took the sample at 7000 miles when i changed it out. I just had a carquest oil filter on it and i am using a AC-delco this time hoping for even better results with that. It...

    Bigger oil pan?

Bigger oil pans allows for there to be more oil and allows for the oil to remain cooler which in turns helps with everything else in the engine to remain cooler. But i would recommend doing the filtration system you get the extra oil plus get more filtration which is always better for a engine.
