I drove the truck to my sisters for christmas, everything was working as normal. When I left her house the brake light did'nt shut off after I released the e-brake, When I started driving down the street the speedometer was'nt reading, and then shot all the way over. While driving I could'nt set...
Anyone else ever had this happen? The outside starter bolt sheared off in the block and I had to remove it. Just want to see if its a normal occurance.
She lives again !!!!!!!!!
Got it running tonight! The main issue was the PMD, and the other was the fuel leaks I had.
Thanks to everyone who gave advice. Also thanks to Leroy from PMDCABLE.COM for hooking me up today. I bought the DTech pmd and relocation kit. It has a very adaquete heat...
I have been jumping the lift pump by pressing the lift pump fuse to the post on the firewall next to it. Seems to work fine. Mines a OBD1 truck. If the lift pump works when I jump it then I would'nt think it needs replacment. I never actually hear the lift pump when I turn the ignition on...
Well I had so much trouble with my back that I had to get my brother over to work on it. I already pulled the intake and checked for unplugged elec connections, and check the hoses. When he got here he cracked the lines loose on the back of the injection pump and had me turn it over for a little...
I have been thinking about replacing mine with a pipe nipples and some hose, It was weeping when I pulled my intake, but only when I had it pulled to the side so I could remove the intake bolts. Otherwise I have'nt seen a drop when its bolted down.
just so I'm clear, the line that connects to the OUT port on the filter housing runs to the port on top of the IP, and the line that connects to the drain port runs to the T valve, right?
Could'nt really work on the truck to much today because my back tightened up on me, but a friend told me to crack loose the injector lines and crank the engine over to bleed the air out. But that did'nt do anything helpful, I did'nt even see any fuel come out of the lines. In a few days when my...
Ok, so I replaced the fuel lines and oring, put everything back together ,now it WON'T start. I tried the procedure listed here http://www.thetruckstop.us/forum/showthread.php?t=13505
Still no dice. Is it possible that the PMD or the IP are completely screwed. It ran enough to get me home...
M and D here in Houston has the pump but its $1096 ,new or reman is the same price. I replaced the rubber fuel lines and the o-ring that seals the fuel heater. Tomorrow I gotta get another turbo coupler and finish putting the truck together. We'll see if fixing the fuel leaks will get it running...
The problem I have with that is the tag is missing off my pump, someone in the past thought it was a bright idea to tear it off. Is there a way to tell the difference in them without the tag.
The sellers id is pumpguy246, anyone ever buy from him? His price is less than half the dealers, I don't have $1007 for a new pump. Heres the link to his auction
TD edit ebay link removed, product competes with product sold be site vendors, this one is a tough call as we don't have a vendor for...
Thanks Turbine Doc, I figure I'd try replacing the o-ring first, if that don't work I'll go from there. I'm also going to replace all the rubber fuel lines as well.
