Timing is dependent on three things, rpm, fuel quantity, boost. All three make a difference. If it is rattling you have too much. :D

They should call it that "pants dropper 2009" as that is what you might as well do to feel that gain..........

Try dosing the fuel with low-ash 2 stroke oil and running it for a while, I use 4-6 oz in each tank plus another 2-4 oz of Shaffer diesel additive in every fill-up. The newer fuel has almost no sulphar and therefore no lubricity so it makes things worse. Also 2001 models were known for FRPCV...
